This cottage is situated in a brilliant location, in the middle of nowhere, walks from the door, pub within walking distance. The attitude of the owners to us completely spoilt this holiday....having read the blurb about the cottage and seeing it had electric heating (even though it mentioned a log burning stove in the sitting room) we thought this would... having stayed at this beautiful lake land cottage on several occasions over the years, i can simply say its perfect. it is exactly what it says on the tin..... its a cottage on a working farm in the very middle of rural cumbria....smack bang in the mddle of nowhere. it has the sights and smells of a working farm...dogs barking.... As others have pointed out, the self-catering cottage is attached to a working sheep and dairy farm approximately 6 miles from Ambleside. Yes, it's a little remote, but that was the attraction for us... amazing scenery and beautiful walks literally from the front door. I personally had no problem in finding it via SatNav, the nearest shop and pub are... More

Stayed in the property for 4 nights. It needs real cleaning. The ceilings of the bedrooms are full of dirt. The rug, sofa, floor and carpets are filthy. Would not recommend anyone with asthma to stay in this property. Very sorry to write this as this property is located is situated in such a wonderful place and cleaning can make... More

My Dad and I spent a week in the self catering cottage attached to Fell Foot Farm. It was absolutely perfect and I would have no doubts in recommending it. There are two double bedrooms, with gorgeously comfy beds, plenty of scalding hot water (which was very welcome after some chilly walks when all I wanted was a long hot... More

Fell Foot Farm is a beautiful little sheep farm in a remote countryside area, we had GPS so location was easy after a fun drive through the winding green hills. (The location itself is 5 stars but we only gave 4 due to it being remote, it may be hard to get to without a car or GPS). The owner... More

We stayed in the B&B rooms and agree with previous comments on location; it's stunning and perfect for hiking. It is a working farm more than an established B&B hence my following observations: As for the rooms, don't expect too much. The ensuite room is small but has all the essentials (minus the hair dryer). Nice view from the window.... More

Myself ,my wife and youngest (grown up) son stayed there for a week in May, in the self catering cottage. What a delightful place in a wonderful part of the lakes ,the place has real character. While Fell Foot is a working sheep farm the accommodation was spot on. Good clean bed linen, decent kitchen area very homely with an... More

The rooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable. I stayed in both whilst I was there. The location is awe inspiring if a little remote. To get food you need to walk 20 minutes to the nearest pub (which does very nice food). The breakfast was very nice and the hotel owner is friendly and accommodating.

My family and I stayed at fell Foot Farm in mid June, we found this off the internet, yet another place we needed to stay on our exteneded U.K Europe holiday.
