Really lovely rooms, lovely bedding and rooms decorated really nicely! Very clean and lovely en-suite bathrooms! Tea/coffee facilities, flat screen TV's! A bed and breakfast with that extra something else. Have stayed with Lindsay and Keith on numerous occasions, always look foward to going back. Having previously stayed in Ambleside in another excellent B&B we were not expecting anywhere else to be as good. How wrong we were. If you like pink and peach colour scheme, teddy bears and fried bread this could be the place for you. Lindsay refers to Norwood as a Guest House and it has some of those stereotypical features - the list of rules as you arrive, the bell to summon your hosts and the well-worn carpets. Everything about Norwood House is fantastic. From the position of the hotel, handy for local walks or a roam around town. The 'Bay Window' room is a home from home. Every detail has been well thought about, from the teddies on the bed to the moisturiser in the bathroom, fancy a glass of wine- use the cork screw and glasses.... more

Just back from a few days in Ambleside. Would highly reccommend Norwood House, the breakfast was great, very tasty and well cooked. The rooms are comfortable and cosy. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, Keith was very helpful with suggestions for short easy walks for myself and my friend who are novice walkers to say the least! Only one... more

Excellent B and B with lots of little touches that usually aren't thought about. The Norwood is run by a very welcoming helpful couple, which makes all the difference. Our only complaint would be that there was a small amount of mildew around the shower in the otherwise spotless bathroom. more
