“Great weekend!”

We stayed at Lakes Lodge as my boyfriend was running the Windemere marathon. Great location, great staff, great decor and stunning views from our top floor room. I'd recommend Lakes Lodge to anyone looking for a nice base in Ambleside and we will look to stay again next year when I run the marathon!

“Terrible Bed, Noisy Plumbing”

3 nights in May 2012. Room 2 had the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on! Heating had no thermostat so either too hot or too cold. Very noisy plumbing kept us awake. Breakfast is buffet so not fresh. Staff excellent though. Location excellent. If they fixed bed and plumbing it would be very good.

Lakes Lodge is ideally situated in Ambleside with good access to all the best walks, pubs and restaurants. The breakfast every morning was wonderful.
