We had fond memories of this place and returned to celebrate a special birthday. As we pulled into the car park the place looked run down and uninviting. We called the mobile number left on the counter and after a wait we're shown to our room, the room was one of the premier rooms four poster and jacuzzi bath. The... More

This was a terrific B&B and we were thrilled to get a room here. We stopped in around 11:00am and Paul (the owner) gave us a very warm and friendly welcome. The room was ready for us right away and was large and very nice, on the main floor facing the horse paddock (we later found out this was the... More

We have just returned from a lovely 3 night break and have had a truly relaxing trip. On checking in, Paul made us feel truly welcome. We received a free, very welcome, upgrade and were allocated room 11. The room, as the pictures show, has been refurbished recently and is as good as you would expect in many hotels. The... More

Just returned from a two-night KGB stay. I must say after reading some of the reviews we were quite apprehensive but needn't have worried. Yes the Lodge needs some TLC -the bathrooms need regrouting and some mould removing around the bath, TVs are dated and badly positioned in the room (for some reason there were two TVs in ours) etc... I booked this hotel in January for a wedding we are going to in the next village. I phoned the hotel 5 times over the period of 2 days and even emailed eventually on the sixth attempt the phone was answered by a very rude old lady who I assume must have been the cleaner, as she obviously didnt have... I have stayed in better hostels than this supposed four star hotel. Rude greeting by bumbling old lady on arrival. She was very quick to ask for money straight away (completely rude by the way) obviously because they probably have problems with people wanting refunds and making complaints. Mainly unmanned reception. There is a number to ring on the reception... More

We arrived at reception and like other reviewers had to call the telephone number left on the desk, Paul arrived a few minutes after our call and showed us to our room,(room 17 on the ground floor). It was a large room containing a 4 poster bed, a sofa, dressing table, flat screen tv and a small dining table and... More

I wish I had read the reviews. The hotel, although in a fantastic location, and looks good on the website, that's where the good news ends. Dark dingy hotel, with dated rooms, rickety furniture, fixtures that don't work , beds held up with wood, owners that wouldn't be out of place on the Jeremy Kyle Show. It's clear why they... More
