Stayed in the Kingswood with a friend for a girls weekend. We received a warm welcome from David, and there is on site parking which is ideal in busy Ambleside. We had the Cartmel room which was a twin and was like a small suite. The general cleanliness was excellent, the bathroom facilities were superb. The B&B has an air... more

Lovely place in Ambleside with free parking and comfy rooms. The owners are helpful, and the breakfast is excellent. When we returned from a day's walk there was always a cake and fresh tea / coffee supplies in the room, which was a lovely touch. it had a comfy bed and good shower. more

We booked in at the Bee and Bee on the recommendation of a friend for four nights in early September, for our first trip to the Lake District. I would just like to echo the comments of other reviewers by saying that this was one of the best holidays I have ever been on, made all the more special by... more

My partner and I had (as usual) left everything to the last minute and were delighted to find this beautiful "Bee + Bee" (forgive the pun.) The rooms were immaculate, very clean, very spacious with a lovely en-suite. My partner was particularly keen on the glass bowl of the sink in the en-suite and it certainly did make the en-suite... more

I've just spent 2 nights here with my hubby as we fancied a relaxing weekend away. I emailed/rang 65+ establishments before almost giving up, as everywhere was full. I'd wanted somewhere with a bath, as this is an essential part of a relaxing time for me! I soon realised that I was going to have to forgo this pleasure, unless... more

Have just spent 2 nights in this B&B in Ambleside, and have to say it is one of the best quality B&Bs we have ever stayed in. From the efficient email correspondence before we arrived, to the departure, no details were overlooked. Not the cheapest you might find, but in the tourist heart of the Lake District, you'd be hard-pushed... more

We stayed at Kingswood during our trip through the Lakes District and loved it. Great town and perfectly situated B&B to explore the town and surrounding areas. David and Christine are great hosts ... very friendly and engaging. Easy to book, easy to find and we felt at home straight away. Our room was spacious and light with an excellent... more

Stayed here on the advice from other travellers and we weren't disappointed. Immaculate rooms and attention to detail - the toiletries in the bathroom, dvd's, books, games to use, beautiful cooked breakfast, home made museli and honey from the owners bees and very friendly hosts. Kingswood is just a stroll from town and a great base from which to travel... more

Mary Poppins - Practically perfect in every way. Lovely good-size rooms. En-suite. Very Clean. With widescreen TV, freeview and DVD player (and a good selection of DVDs) in the rooms. 1 minute's walk from Ambleside town centre but far enough not to hear. We went in January 2009. Really good choice, Smashing breakfast too. The "Bee" theme is carried throughout... more
