My husband and I have just spent 4 lovely days and nights in the delightful Fisherbeck Hotel and Woodsidecottage . We have been coming here for over 5 years and have stayed in many of the delighful rooms , but this was the first time we have stayed in the charming cottage ,we could really live here and enjoy our... more

In the past I've stayed in the hotel (many times - returning several times a year) and received great service throughout, enjoying every one of my stays. Due to personal circumstances this time I stayed in the cottage with my mum, dad, husband and 5 week old son. We had a fabulous week. The cottage is spacious and well laid... more

My husband and I and two friends stayed at the Fisherbeck Hotel for two nights in August. We had searched for accommodation in Ambleside and found this to be relatively cheap (£45 pppn B&B)for the location. It would seem that the Fisherbeck used to be more of a 'hotel' but is now more of a 'B&B'. The welcome was friendly... more

We have nothing but praise for this charming hotel, set in the perfect location in Ambleside. If you want to be pampered, especially at breakfast then this is the hotel for you. We stayed two nights in August on our Lands End to John O Groats cycle holiday and this was by far the best hotel out of the 15... more

Brilliant location just 2 minutes one way to Lake Windermere and 2 minutes the other way to the shops and restaurants. Lovely room (bed a little firm for my taste) with tea and coffee, television and lovely hot shower. Excellent hosts and a massive 4 course breakfast!! A lovely hotel in a lovely area. more

I recently booked a two night stay at this hotel for myself and a friend. I have nothing for praise for this hotel - it was a small hotel (18 rooms) and all the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We were made to feel so very welcome there, it really was lovely. The rooms were nicely... more

We had a very plesant experience in this rather charming hotel nestled amongst the fells, right from booking the room we received the upmost service, nothing was to much trouble. We were advised on walks and local attractions from the lovely Mrs Bland. Our room (20) was very clean, and even though we dint have a great view, the wrought... more

We were so disappointed with this place, it was SO overpriced! We paid £100 a night, and it really wasn't worth it. We figured out the price was because of the supply and demand factor in the lake district, everyone wants to go! However this place really cannot justify how much they charge. The rooms were clean and had everything... more

From the moment of walking into the hotel, I felt completely at home. The greeting and service was second to none. The room was delightful, the jacuzzi bath was a particular enjoyment. The breakfast was excellent, a wonderful and varied menu, setting you up for the day. The menu was fantastic, luxurious whisky flavoured porridge to standard full cooked breakfast,... more

We spent one night at The Fisherbeck on the way to Scotland. We had the family room (room 19). It was very large and very clean! An added bonus was the bathtub-nice when you have little ones. I suppose you could say that the decor was slightly dated-but to be honest, that is not my priority when it comes to... more
