We stayed on a three night special deal at the Fisherbeck and at the price we paid it represented good value Not being an expert on Lake district prices I would guess that at its top normal rates it may be on the dear side. However we were in one of the new Garden Rooms which overlook a rather small... more

Stayed at the Fisherbeck for the second time and enjoyed just as much as the first. Rooms are modern and immaculate with nice touches like smellies in the bathroom. Lounge area is comfortable and modern. Staff are helpful and friendly nothing is to much trouble. Breakfast is a feast with table service and a choice of three courses,Its fab. In... more

I have never visited the lakes before and I had no idea about the area or the hotels. I therefore relied heavily on trip advisor for all my information and its there that I found this gem. It was one of those listings that just stood out and I'm so glad It did. The Fisherbeck is a great place to... more

The Fisherbeck is nicely located in my favourite Lake District town, only 5 mins easy walk from the centre and all the eating places. It is more like an hotel than just a B&B, having good public facilities and bar service on request. I stayed in 2 different rooms, both were recently redecorated and clean with good bathing. The service... more

We've just returned from a 5 night stay at The Fisherbeck. Newly refurbished to the highest standards we had a lovely en-suite second-floor room. Great breakfasts - for example Scrambled eggs with local Smoked Salmon, as well as all the other breakfest options you could wish for. We were treated so well, every attention to detail, but also relaxing and... more

We've just returned from The Fisherbeck where we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in one of the Garden Suites and felt it was worth paying a little extra for as the room was perfect - spotlessly clean, fresh and modern with a comfy bed, plenty of storage and a fantastic bathroom with a great shower and bath. The little... more

Hotel is located close to Ambleside, a charming little town. We had a clean, spacious room with a brand new, ultra-modern bathroom. The best part of staying at the Fisherbeck was our host, Raymond. He took time out from his busy schedule to outline a car tour for us through the Lake District. He even lent us his detailed map!... more

We stayed for one night, booking two of the 'suites'. Check in was friendly and helpful, the rooms were superb with great shower and bathroom, lots of room, tiled floors (walkers note!), tea and coffee, water all included. The owner offered to book a restaurant for us and gave us local information too. Breakfast was as good as anything you'll... more
