Great small hotel ideally located for touring the Lake District by car. Only 10 min stroll into centre of Ambleside and 15 min to top of Lake Windermere. Stayed 4 nights. Lovely hotel which is spotlessly clean. breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of good quality and well cooked food. Staff are polite,friendly and helpful.Rooms are comfortable with change of towels daily-our room had a balcony with lovely view. Ideally located with only a short walk into town. Very impressed by the Fisherbeck! Breakfast really was impressive and a good variety of choice where you are expected to sit back and enjoy whilst the staff look after you. Have stayed at the Fisherbeck several times with both family as well as with friends. Have always found the same friendly welcome and comfortable surroundings. Ideally situated for walking breaks. We stayed for one night and i have to say the decor etc is all very nice. we had a superior room with balcony. The room isnt huge for a superior room and the bathroom was pretty small. So i guess your paying £30 more for the fell view and balcony. Which in the summer would be well worth it... more
