Beautiful grounds and stunning views over the fells. Really friendly staff. This B&B has lots to offer, the choice for breakfast was great, something for everyone, it isn't served too early either. They do snacks and packed lunches and bar drinks in the lovely lounge. The bus stop is right outside for getting around and it's perfect distance for walking... More

Excellent room and facilities. Clean and modern everything you would want. Staff friendly and polite. We chose room 4 very quiet and no stairs. Breakfast was served efficiently and had excellent choice. The walk to the center of Ambleside is only a couple of minutes and is all flat walking. Definitely better then the hotels in the town center. Will... More

When staying for a week or more in an area I always look for self-catering options. I was very happy to find Woodside Cottage on the grounds of the Fisherbeck Hotel in Ambleside. It is a lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath (1 en-suite) apartment/flat with all the cooking & laundry options needed within the flat. The interior was nicely thought... More

We were really looking forward to our weekend away due to a very busy work schedule, i booked a standard double not planning to be in the room that much but was surprised by how small the room was, although maybe that's what you get in a prime location in Ambleside for £89 a night. The shower cubical was really... More

The Fisherbeck provides facilities and location that will be hard to beat anywhere. This is our third stay at this hotel. The first was a room at the back, the second in an extension at the side, and this visit, a room to the front. Room 18 on the second floor was to the usual high standards of every other... More

The Fisherbeck was one of the best hotels I have stayed at. It looks welcoming and is sparkling clean. It's perfect for everyone! Rooms are equipped with a spa bath and luxury toiletries. The views from the windows are lovely and every room is top quality with great decorating and furnishings. For breakfast I loved the breakfast muffins- they aren't... More

We stayed at The Fisherbeck for 7 nights. It was an amazing stay, friendly staff, delicious breakfast with a vast variety to choose from, spotless rooms and great location! Upon arrival, the owner himself was waiting for us. We arrived quite late into the night (past midnight). He gave us a very warm welcome. The breakfast is definitely to die... More
