4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013 NEW

I booked a weekend break at The Fisherbeck due to the really good reports on Tripadvisor for Fri 17th to Sun 19th May 2013. I had not stopped in Ambleside before and my girlfriend and I were really impressed with how close the hotel was to the town centre. About a 5 min stroll, near but not right in there.... More

We only stayed here because we were let down at the last minute by The Log House which is opposite the Fisherbeck, the hotel is very nice and spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and efficient. We came for our wedding anniversary and on arrival there was a small bottle of bubble for us, a very nice and thoughtful touch.... More

This is our second stay at the Fisherbeck and we cannot praise it highly enough. The staff are very friendly, efficient and professional. The owners, Ray and Gill went out of their was to make us feel welcome. Last time we stayed in the main Hotel which was excellent, this time we were in room 14, one of the garden... More

My wife and I went on a one night trip to ambleside for a small get away. The Fisherbeck had an excellent price so we booked in. When we arrived, we were greeted with a free coffee. We then sat down for a cheese tray and refreshment, which was excellent. Having not ever been to Ambleside, we asked Raymond and... More

This was our 3rd stay at the Fisherbeck and was every bit as enjoyable as the first two. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room at the back of the hotel was compact but adequate. We had clean towels every day, plenty of toiletries and a fresh supply of filtered water daily. The breakfast is amazing. A lovely choice of... More

It was our 25th wedding anniversary on St Georges Day and we decided on a touch of luxury at a reasonable price. The Fisherbeck garden room more than fitted that bill! Beautiful contemporary room with double ended bath and waterfall shower - bliss. On top of this the staff were lovely and the breakfasts divine. Can heartily recommend the creamy... More

We've just arrived home from a two night stay at the Fisherbeck. I booked online having read the reviews on Trip Advisor. The hotel is easy to find, offers generous free parking and is ideally situated in an elevated position approximately half way between Ambleside town centre and the pier at Waterhead, both within a short walking distance. The Fisherbeck... More

Another wonderful short stay at the Fisherbeck. The fells looked magnificent with a thick coating of snow. After a long walk in cold but dry conditions the spa baths were a real treat. As usual the choice and quality of the food at breakfast was excellent
