My partner and I spent three nights at the guest house and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable, pleasant and clean. The breakfasts were delicious with a wide choice available. Alan even made us packed lunches and flasks of coffee at a very reasonable price so that we could enjoy our walks without having to stop for lunch.... More

A friend and I booked in for a 2 night stay and recieved a really warm welcome from Alan. He was very friendly and couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable. He is very knowledgeable about the walks and helped us to plan our route up scaffel Pike. He even got us to let him know we were up... More

Booked a couple of days here and was really impressed, great value for money, helpful host with lovely food and perfect location. Room a bit dated but clean and perfect for a base to explore the lakes, will definitely be returning.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Alan who was very informative regarding breakfasts, the local attractions and parking (a car park is available for use 20 seconds down the road) etc. We stayed in Windermere room - a four-poster room on the first floor with an ensuite shower room. The room itself was lovely, and the bed seemed to be... More

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in troutbeck room. A smallish room and small shower room. Happy with the cleanliness of room. Mints provided each day, kettle and tea and coffee. The mini fridge was handy and would be great if staying in hot weather. The full English breakfast was a good size, on the second morning I... More
