This small hotel is just steps away from the shore activities at Waterhead, and a 10 minute walk from the hotspots of activity at Ambleside. The garden rooms were more secluded and set in a lovely small garden - ask for one! The staff is attentive and accommodating. Breakfast was generous and available from 8 until noon - sleep in!... We stopped hear for light bites in the afternoon, The ambiance of the hotel and the restaurant was beautiful. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and would visit again.

Thank you TripAdvisor. We chose this hotel solely on the reviews on here when we were looking for a last minute room. We were offered a very reasonable price and had a great stay. A lovely modern hotel, friendly and very attentive staff, great food in the restaurant and of course a perfect setting beside the lake. We would definitely... More

Stayed for 3 nights in this lovely, small hotel in the first week of April. We had a ground floor room in the courtyard. The room was a good size, tastefully decorated with a very modern bathroom which had a wonderful walk in shower. Tea and coffee were provided in the room which also had a flatscreen tv. The choice... This is a great hotel with contemporary, tasteful décor throughout. The staff were hospitable and welcoming, particularly the team in the dining room who were exceptionally courteous and considerate. The breakfast, which is available until noon, was delicious and plentiful. The only down side for us was the bar closing at 9.30pm, and some early morning noise from the maintenance... More

Superb location, wonderful staff, excellent food, & lovely rooms. Keep this a secret. Easy walk to Ambleside centre with good shops & eateries. Plenty of good walks, either level or more difficult. On a good bus route,so no need to use the car.

Great value hotel with modern rooms and facility's , pleasant staff and great location. We stayed in March and had no problems with heating as the rooms were very warm. A short walk to the ferry boats or a little longer to Ambleside town but nothing strenuous. Try steak night great value ,great meal.

A really good experience from well intentioned and friendly staff. Food very good. No wifi in courtyard rooms was not really acceptable given the amount of time it has been available elsewhere. Rooms clean and comfortable. Mini fridge mot working. Need to bring own soap and shampoo but hand wash and shower gel provided. Would come again

This was a return visit to the Regent, a hotel we last visited more than 10 years ago, and wanted to take our 2 children to. Sadly, our experience of 'family rooms' often means that you are crammed into a slightly smaller than usual double room, with either a sofa bed or bunks in an alcove, making it even smaller,... More

Just returned from a weekend break at the regent hotel. Me and my partner stayed for 2 days with our 8 week old son. We had booked a garden room which was very nice and even with the cot provided still had plenty of room. The heating was already on for when we arrived which was great as it was... More
