What a gem of a place and a perfect location with lovely views out of the two bay windows, the staff were incredibly helpful and gave us some information about how to hire the rowing boats down at the Lake which amazing, there was a huge range of breakfast choice in the morning and the Jacuzzi bath was an awesome... Recently had a nights stay at the Brathay Lodge. Received a warm welcome and they were kind enough to allow us to check in earlier than was stated on the booking. The room was lovely with a 4 poster bed, jacuzzi spa bath and the view was amazing. Location was ideal, two minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside and... More

The location of this hotel is perfect. The breakfast is good too. I had a pleasant 2 nights stay here. The lake is right in front, you can walk down the lush green meadows along with grazing mountain goats. The hotel is little off the main road which makes is secluded and private. There is fire pace outside where you... More

I recently spent 2 nights here with my girlfriend. The central location meant we were all of a minutes walk from the centre of town and just 10 minutes from the lake. The Guest House itself was fantastic. Very clean, friendly staff and excellent facilities... We were particularly delighted with the surprise of a Jacuzzi Spa Bath! We will definitley... More

We stayed in Room 6.Superking and 2 single baths. Great comfortable beds. Spacious room with plenty storage. Kids loved the jacuzzi bath. It's a buffet continental breakfast, but there's plenty of it. Overlooks Ambleside childrens golf course and park. Can't really fault this accomodation, it's just a little pricey.

Lovely room on 2nd floor (Room 18) with four poster bed and a small sitting area. Very clean, super continental style breakfast, friendly helpful staff and a great location just on the outskirts of Ambleside. Only downside is no lift. Highly recommended.

We booked last minute. Our first visit to this lovely B&B and we stayed 4 nights in an attic double. Perhaps not suitable for anyone with mobility issues but for us it was perfect, extremely quiet and with views towards Wansfell. The decor throughout is lovely and everywhere clean and we were made to feel very welcome by all the... More

I recently stayed here on the eve of my wedding day along with my bridesmaids. On first contact with the B&B I asked if I would be able to have an extra late checkout, and for a little extra charge was no problem at all, which meant we could relax and get ready in our own time. The staff were... More

We stayed here 6 nights in June/July and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is well positioned and very close to the shops and restaurants in Ambleside and just a short 15 min walk to the lake. All the staff were lovely and were more than helpful and made us feel welcome. The breakfast was continental buffet and was just... More
