This B&B has all the amenities of a much larger hotel--swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool--with the personal care and ambiance of an old British home. The location is perfect, being very central with just a short walk to shops, pubs, etc., but enough off the beaten path that it is very quiet. It is also centrally located for walks (what we... More

In my opinion this b and b could be a three star hotel. It certainly is the best b and b I have ever stayed in. Lovely quiet location with no traffic noise. Plenty of parking. Lock up for the bikes. We arrived early asking if there was a parking place available. There was. Also a brew. The room was... More

Our second stay didn't disappoint. Last time we had the garden suite which is a self contained flat suiting dog owners or couples wanting extra privacy. This time we had a superior room which was really lovely, complete with jacuzzi bath. As with our first stay, the staff we're all very welcoming, helpful & served a super cooked breakfast. Location... More

We spent 4 days relaxing here. Cannot fault anything. Beautiful rooms, helpful friendly staff. Our dogs are always very welcome too and as they are a huge part of our family that is such a bonus for us. Love the family atmosphere and they way we are made to feel at home. Plenty of room in the car park for... More

We stayed in a family room which was on the ground floor right by the entrance. It obviously also doubled as an accessible room as the bathroom was huge with room to manoeuvre a wheelchair around and a seat for the shower which wasn't hidden within a shower cubicle. Our son had a chair bed made up on arrival. The... More

promised a luxury B&B experience but found motorway service station toilet roll sheets, industrial shower gel dispenser and no other toiletries. Bedding poor with worn out old foam pillows and when we asked for others they provided more of the same then took them away the next day. Rooms tired 1980s decor and no cleaning in the public areas. Large... More

My wife and I, and my son who has sight difficulties, stayed for 4 days in July 2014, and were well aware that this hotel enjoys a reptuation as a good dog friendly hotel, which does not charge extra for your dog. If this hotel can manage to survive in a challenging economic climate without charging for a dog to... More

Stayed last night, had the best welcome we've ever had on our arrival. We stayed in the superior room. It was gorgeous, clean, huge bed, good side tv, spa bath and more. Towels , slippers and dressing gown ready to go for a dip in the pool then a relax in the hot tub. Breakfast a good selection of foods.... More

We stopped in room 10 which was lovely and spacious. It had a spiral staircase with bathroom and small area downstairs and bedroom upstairs. The owners were very pleasant and breakfast was lovely. We went down to the swimming area which needed a bit of TLC, the jacuzzi didn't work properly. It is situated ideally and you can walk into... More

This is a lovely traditional B&B in the middle of Ambleside, close to all the amenities and with parking too, a great advantage here.A family run house with an added extra of a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna! Our room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed, including a lovely bathroom with spa bath. A good choice of... More
