Lovely Grounds but that's about as far as it goes. Owner was not very hospitable. Bedroom and bathroom very outdated and requiring a good clean. Shower terrible. My back is still recovering from the bed which was really soft. Would recommend the Saluation just up the road. more

We arrived at the Old Vicarage, we had a look round the B&B had lovely grounds. Went to look at the swimming pool apparently they don’t take the cover off until 4pm. We had to have a dance round the shower to get wet, very poor. I definitely would not recommend this B&B to anyone. more

We have just got home from the old vicarage after a two night stay with our 3 boys of 7. 5 & 3. We loved it here, the family who run the B & B were so friendly and kind, it was lovely, really comfotable, well positioned for town, a lovely welcoming place. Even the the decor was quite old... more

Probably the best B & B we havestayed at and absolutely perfect for dogs. Yes there are rules but ill disciplined dogs are a reflection of their owners and they should not be allowed to keep them in the first place. The location is perfect - a park nearby with adequate bins, right in the heart of town with plenty... more

This was our second time at the old Vicarage and once again my boyfriend and I had an amazing time. We purposefully go at this time of the year because it is so quiet and we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. The pubs at night only had a few punters in and we never had to... more

We stayed for one night at The Old Vicarage Ambleside and wished we had booked for longer! The owners were friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with a lovely pot of freshly brewed coffee and biscuits. Our room (number 1) was very spacious and had everything we could possibly need and more - four poster bed, comfortable sofa, tv, dvd,... more

We arrived the afternoon of the horrendous rains and floods that ravaged the Lake District on Saturday 25th October. Glad to see the old Vicarage was on a hill! We were welcomed very warmly and inspite of the deluge of rain were assisted to park our car and get our luggage into the house. We had a room in the... more

I had the pleasure of staying at this B&B on a whistlestop stop tour with my mother. Having had a long drive to reach here, we were greeted with a warm welcome and teas, coffees and shortbread. Our room was great, with tea, coffee facilities, TV,DVD, Fridge with a more than adequate bathroom. Our bedroom was fantastic, good size with... more

We stayed at The Old Vicarage for 2 nights in September. This B&B is perfectly located in Ambleside - convenient and within a very short walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants, cinema and has the added bonus of having its own parking within the grounds. We stayed in room 4 which, it has to be said, was one of the... more
