It's been 17 years since our first visit to this hotel and we had nothing but great memories of it.so we decided to return this January for my wife's 50th. To cut a long story short we have nothing negative to report. The hotel was spotless, the staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was fantastic. We also overheard... More

We have just returned from a lovely 1 night stay at this lovely hotel. The room was spotless, modern and comfortable - beautiful views even from the back of the hotel. We booked last minute, midweek, and only rang because a nearby hotel wouldn't let us stay just one night. No problem at the Skelwith Bridge. From the first phone... More

We've been coming to this hotel twice a year for long weekends for over 20 years. Old fashioned in a charming way, very clean rooms, lovely staff, fantastic food. Log fires. Literally park the car up and beautiful walks all around. A must visit.

Lovely hotel, great walks around the hotel, there is a pub adjacent to the hotel if you want a snack or bar food but the hotel also has its own restaurant which serves fabulous food. Rooms are lovely and come with tea and coffee facilities. Love this hotel

Our two night stay between Christmas and New Year brought back some wonderful memories of spending time at this Hotel 20 or so years ago. It has not lost its character, charm and excellent standards of service. It still has that wonderful homely feel with the added luxury of excellent food and attentive, friendly staff. Thanks for not changing your... More

We returned to this hotel on Boxing Day for our annual post Xmas break with friends and were impressed once more . The staff are really friendly and obliging ( Ken the Barman is a real star - and the pyrotechnic maestro at New Year ! ) They have 3 excellent real ales always available and the food is first... Just back from a 2 night stay with a group of friends. We all loved it and will certainly return for another stay. Food was lovely and a table was provided for eleven of us to sit together. We did pay an extra £10 for a larger room which i thought was worth it. Lovely size with a large tv... More

£50 for bed breakfast and evening meal until 20th December. Good good wholesome quality with choices. Mulled cider in the cosy Talbot bar. Staff extremely helpful. May want to take own pillow as theirs can be hard. But this was the only downside. Dogs are welcome but as a none dog owner, their presence was not felt until you saw... More

We stopped for a quick bite at lunch time. We were very warmly welcomed by the barman, the food was nicely presented, the portions generous and served promptly, but it was just run of the mill pub grub. Toilets very clean. We won,t be rushing back.

My friend and I stayed at Skelwith Bridge a couple of weekends ago. There are so many great things to say about this hotel. Firstly the staff could not be more friendly and obliging - absolutely nothing is too much trouble. Secondly the rooms are immaculate. The hotel has single ensuite rooms and it was so brilliant not having to... More
