Third stay at Skelwith, staff, food, rooms all good. It offers excellent value for money. My preferred room is No 15 but any of the deluxe rooms give you a bit more space. The area is great for walking right from the door enabling a car free few days. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Food OK but nothing fantastic. Service very good. Deluxe double was a bit pokey and came with a tiny TV. Best thing about this Hotel is the location - the bar is quite goods and they have a nice log fire in the lobby you can sit round before / after a meal.

Stayed last weekend. Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Great food in the restaurant. Ideal spot for walking and visiting surrounding beauty spots. A great walk along the river to Elterwater straight from hotel is a must. Be sure to visit Chesters next door for good food and brilliant gifts. We had booked a king size bed room. Bed was amazing... This is my fourth stay here and as we have a dog we stayed in the Grasmere suite.ideal for people with dogs or the elderly. Great place with far reaching views, not from the Grasmere I hasten to add, Very good food and service both at breakfast and dinner and the prices for an out of season stay from Sunday... More

We rented a cottage just next to the hotel for New Year 2013/14 and used the bar and Restaurant . Both great. Excellent food staff very friendly, we had a small incident with the meal but it was very professionally dealt with and the manager was fantastic. Great place to eat and some nice ales too. Will definitely be back.... More

We now stayed a couple of times for the - All Year Madness Special Offer - 2 night Dinner Bed & Breakfast package. Its rare to find a hotel that allows a family dog to stay too, but this hotel was very welcoming. On both occasions, the bedrooms (10 and then 15) were ideal and very spacious. The evening meals... This is a well run 3 star hotel in a beautiful part of The Lakes. You can park your car up and enjoy some great walks and pubs on the way. The hotel ticks all the boxes for comfort and a relaxed atmosphere. We stayed in room 11 this time which was clean and large although dated in places. The... More
