Sue and her team run such a lovely place!! We received a warm welcome, stayed 5 nights in Lingmoor, which was not only a tasteful and comfortable room with stunning views but also had a bathroom nearly the same size. The service was excellent and personalised and we felt at home straight away! Breakfasts very delicious, great choice and quality!!... More

What a great place! From the setting to the breakfast everything was lovely. Just outside Ambleside, but easy to get a taxi if you want wine with your dinner. Nanny Brow is on a hill overlooking the valley with lovely views. Attention to detail was very good, including fresh complimentary cake. Staff were all very helpful, and breakfast very nice.... More

My wife chose Nanny Brow for our last minute 3 night visit to the Lake District. I thought it looked good but expensive but within a few minutes, she persuaded me to book 4 nights (last one half price for mid-week say) in the Skelwith room. As it turned out she made a good decision. At the risk of repeating... More

We have just stayed one night but we loved it. The room had a stunning view, the breakfast was excellent. In fact, it was the best brekfast on our trip. And we stayed in about 8 (!) B&Bs and boutique hotels during our stay in the UK... Fresh fruits, homemade scones, delicious bread, fruity jams and all ingredients for the... More

Thank you for your delicious review. We pride ourselves on serving the best ingredients Cumbria can provide and it’s so gratifying to hear you appreciated our breakfasts, especially when you only stayed 1 night. We try and provide lots of choice for all pallets and dietary requirements and the home made drop scones with maple syrup and blueberries are always... More

Had a great 2 night stay in July, the room was lovely, breakfasts great and views incredible. One of the team recommended a brilliant walk over to Grasmere and a lovely pub in Hawkshead. My only slight criticism was that its a 20min walk from Ambleside but other than that it exceeded all of our expectations.

I did all the homework for our little mini break and was still very happily surprised when we arrived at Nanny Brow. How Sue arranged the most brilliant weather is beyond us. Then the views, simply breathtaking, I sat outside for at least a couple of hours upon arrival simply gazing at honestly some of the most spectacular sights I... More

Booked for a long weekend in the middle of building work at home. Accidentally entered wrong e-mail address but they still managed to sort out our booking. Hotel itself is excellent with everything perfect for a relaxing stay. Set in fabulous grounds with two friendly border collies providing entertainment. Room was clean and tidy and everything we needed was provided.... More

This was the most amazing weekend, in enjoyable luxury. The B&B is pricless, we were totally spoilt by the warm welcome from the owner Sue and her friendly staff. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, whether is the spolit for choice breakfasts which are to die for ( not literally) or the cold beer taking in the amazing views.... More
