I hesitate to praise this place as much as it deserves because everyone will go there and its already pretty popular, but everything about it is perfect. Despite arriving in heavy rain and our car breaking down in the car park they helped us in, and everyone is greeted with complementary cream tea. I have stayed here before and this time... More

We have posted many times about the Drunken Duck as we believe it is the finest place to eat, drink and stay in the entire Lake District. Consequently we have always given it 100% positive feedback, and this stay is no exception. We are always left wondering how they can consistently deliver to such a high standard, and now we... Popped in for lunch on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Food was fantastic and service very friendly. Limited menu but every dish is top quality and has clearly been perfected. Not cheap at £40 for lunch for 3 people but well worth it and would definitely return.

Very remote which is nice. Fantastic beers on tap but a strange bunch of tourist from the nearby caravan site. The food (steak) came a bit cold and they add on pricey extras for a proper meal. It was alright but I wouldn't rush back other than for the ales they produce next door. If you go make sure you... More

A lovely pub/restaurant, great atmosphere. Our food was delicious. Staff were attentive without being overbearing. Hope to return one day but thoroughly recommend it. Booking is essential during high season.

Staff and service at this attractive pub/restaurant with rooms are both excellent. On the bed and breakfast deal, the inclusion of afternoon tea is a nice touch and makes it worth being back before 5pm. The bar is pleasant with interesting ales brewed on the premises, and it's a nice place to watch other guests and locals as you choose... More

Have stayed at many places in The Lakes over the years and finally managed to get here....an impromptu booking for last Friday night as we were doing a memorial walk in the Langdales on Saturday. Sadly didn't get there in time for tea but had lovely drinks in the bar, a very friendly mix of residents, dinner visitors and people... More

We had often talked about staying at The Drunken Duck as we had driven past a number of times while visiting the lakes. So we decided that for our 12th wedding anniversary we would treat ourselves to a weekend away there and we weren't disappointed. Our room was beautiful and opened out onto the gardens. We unpacked and then went... More

Finally made it to the Drunken Duck having failed in the past due to its remote location. This time we took no chances and got a taxi from Ambleside. The cosiest pub I have ever been in! Great decor, ambience and lighting. Food also excellent. I started with gin cured salmon, cucumber and wasabi. Light and delicious. Partner had the... More
