Took advantage of the 2 night mid week dinner, bed and breakfast offer. Welcoming reception staff showed us to a compact standard view room in the main Inn. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found it really relaxing. Staff, food and drinks were great. Only problems encountered were a bizarre smell in the whole inn on our second night. I think... More

Nice restaurant with cosy environment. We were recommended this restaurant by a friend. There is nothing unusual with this restaurant but the environment make it a nice place to spend your lunch. Car park is free, and location was easily found by the navigator. The portion, considering we eating in England, are ok. We had a meze to share, which... More

We had been advised that Drunken Duck was well worth a visit. On the drive back from Windermere passed the sign Drunken Duck half a mile and decided to give it ago. That was some half a mile all uphill!!!! Anyway moan over, I was driving so other half had the pleasure of the local ales. Must have been good... More

My wife and I had a short break at the Drunken Duck at the beginning of February. We had opted for the special Sunday / Monday deal. We arrived on Sunday lunchtime and both enjoyed a superb roast beef Sunday lunch. The bar is small but has a great range of beers and wines and we received attentive but not... More

Spent a night here for our anniversary - the room in the courtyard was stunning and we appreciated the scones on arrival, then gin and tonics outside in the last rays of sunshine enjoying the view before delicious dinner. Highly recommend for a romantic night away.

A rather disappointing visit - did not live up to its good reputation. Firstly the room. Initially, it looked lovely ( a Garden room ) but actually had a number of irritating flaws. A good size bathroom but nowhere to put wash bags etc. - not a single available shelf or unit, so it was either in the bath or... More

Stopped off for lunch at the Drunken Duck on a day visit to the Lakes, mid-way between Hawkshead and Ambleside off the B5286. Friendly staff behind the bar. Started with leek and potato soup which was excellent, then a very healthy meal of cod, smoked potato and greens, followed by poached rhubarb and sorbet. All very tasty. It was served... More

We visited the Inn on a midweek 2 night offer and were initially impressed. Our deluxe courtyard room was spacious and elegant with a freestanding bath but a tiny and dated shower which was a little awkward to use. Check in was efficient rather than over friendly - we arrived just in time for afternoon tea which included lovely scones... More

A really nice place if you are out for a nice walk and you fancy a couple of beers to refresh yourself. My wife and I decided to pop along for dinner early evening and credit where it is due we were sorted out with a table. Lucky really as they were fully booked, or was I lucky? I ordered... More

Stayed at the Drunken Duck last week - 2 night midweek break - dinner bed and breakfast. Upon arrival promptly shown to our room on the first floor of the pub. You could hear the kitchen fans from below but were advised they are turned off at 10pm each evening which they duly were. Rooms well furnished and the bed... More
