Having previously stayed at the Old Vicarage but it being fully booked for the weekend of 14th November, we decided to try the new B&B. We weren't disappointed. Our room, 6, was fantastic with beautiful views and all the fittings were what we have come to expect of the old vicarage. Dave the dog was made to feel very welcome... More

We're so glad you still came to Ambleside, even though we were fully booked at our other B&B! As you know, Brantholme is a new venture for us, but it's so reassuring to hear your praise. We are really pleased to be able to offer the private, off-road parking on our very quiet street. It's a little strange being so... More

my husband and i stayed here for my birthday on Saturday 8th November for 2 nights. having stayed at the old vicarage many times in the past(,their sister b&b ) we thought we would give their new B&B a try and what a lovely place, the b&b is beautiful, the owners have just done a major refurbishment and it is... Hi Susan, Thank you so much for taking a few moments to review Brantholme B&B. Thank you also for being brave enough to try our new B&B when you've been used the The Old Vicarage! It's a different thing entirely, although we think they're both a very similar 'quality'. We'd love to welcome you back in 2015 and we guarantee... More

After searching for places offering 1-night stays in the Lakes we came across Brantholme from its sister website The Old Vicarage. We booked last-minute and weren't disappointed... what a fantastic place. As others have said Helen, Ian & Liana were all extremely helpful and affable and made us feel very welcome indeed (including Mitch the collie who has a frustrating... More

Thanks for your review Ian C. We've had the Old Vicarage for a good few years now, but Brantholme B&B is very much a new venture for us. We're delighted you felt we've got it right! Lets face it - friendly service in our industry should be the norm (thought it's still nice to hear), but we do think we've... More

Spent 4 nights here after a hectic 4 days down south and were blown away (well, the opposite of that really!) by the tranquility of the guest house, the affability and helpfulness of our hosts Ian and Helen, and the restorative powers of the Ambleside village and countryside. Great shower, comfy bed - perfect restorative

Thank you for taking the time to review Brantholme. We really enjoyed having you to stay for 4 nights - our average stay is 2-3 nights, so it was great to get a little longer to share our local knowledge! We must admit to considering ourselves very lucky to be in such a quiet location, but near the village centre... More

Found this B&B through the Tourist Information Centre who were very helpful. We wanted a one night stay at the weekend and a room at Brantholme was the only room available in Ambleside. As it turned out, we couldn't have found better. Very clean, lovely big room with a great view. Staff extremely friendly and a great breakfast Couldn't really... More

Thanks to the Visitor Information Centre for sending you to us! We were the lucky ones have such nice customers to stay during our first few weeks of opening. We inherited no database of previous owners so it was very much a standing start, hence being the 'last room in Ambleside'! We do hope you'll consider us for a future... More

Finding a last minute weekend booking for a B & B in Ambleside at a busy time is not easy, but we were very fortunate to come across the Brantholme Guest House on TripAdvisor. After a long refurbishment, the B & B had only reopened the week before, so they still had vacancies for a Friday and Saturday night. The... More

What a lovely review - thank you. We were delighted to welcome you during our first week or so and lets hope you'll be able to return to us in the future. The location of Brantholme really is lovely for exploring the Lake District and as you mentioned, it's great to have the private, off-road car park so customers can... More

I've just returned home after a lovely night's stay at the guest house with my family. The refurbishment has been done to a high standard and the family who run the guest house are lovely and welcoming. The bed is so comfy and the breakfast was really delicious. Fantastic location too. We'll definitely be back soon!

Many thanks for your review and for letting everyone know about our great location close to Ambleside's village centre and the comfy beds. During the refurb we decided to put Super-King size beds in all 7 rooms - we're keen for everyone to get a great night's sleep! Please keep an eye out for the Winter Offers on our website,... More

We stayed here just as the new owners reopened the B&B after (what they tell us) was a rather torrid refurb. We stayed in Room 6 on the 2nd floor, with amazing views of the fells. There was a brand new Internet TV (everything was new of course!), massive comfy bed, lovely ensuite bathrooms and free wifi. Parking was also... More

Thank you for your review and apologies for the delayed response. The 8 month refurb was quite intense, but we think we're there now! We appreciate you choosing our B&B and hope that you'll return one day soon to enjoy Ambleside once again. More

Have stayed in the Brantholme many times over the past 20 years. It hasn't changed much in that time. If you want welcoming accommocation that is reliably clean and good value for money then you can't go wrong.

Hi Mattwhu66, Apologies for coming back to you a long time after you have reviewed Brantholme B&B, but I just wanted to let you (and other people reading this review) know that as new owners, we've just spend 8 months reconfiguring and refurbishing the B&B to a very high standard. Thank you Westminster43. We can't take the credit for the standard of your stay, as we are the new owners of Brantholme! We're pleased you had a great stay though and of course many things are the same - the great location, the private, off-road parking and lovely breakfast. I'm afraid the 'old world air' has most definitely gone though... More
