Stayed here for one night. Its in a very good location in the centre of Ambleside. Ange and Brian (hope ive got your names right) were really friendly. Enjoyed playing some bingo in the evening. It is an Inn and so your room will be above the bar but we didn't have any problems with noise. Our room was spotless... More

Picked the Churchill Inn as a last minute deal. It is what it says on the tin. An Inn, Public bar downstairs serving a good choice of beers and some good food. The guys running the place were very friendly and helpful. A large building with a number of floors and rooms. We were on the top floor up 4flights.... More

We spent one night at the Churchill and it was alright but nothing special. I didn't like the fact that we had to pay upfront. Be prepared to climb some stairs as there is no lift access. This didn't bother me but I would not recommend it to people with walking difficulties or for people with small children. We stayed... More

Visited here on a recent break watching a football match, lively happy atmosphere. Bar staff was very friendly. Drinks priced reasonabily. Did not eat here therefore unable to advise of food. Clean and several places to sit. Would recommend a visit.

Great place to watch football and have a few beers. Always fairly lively and busy and can be quite noisy (particularly the karaoke night on Friday) with largish groups of friends out for the evening. Good place to go if you're looking for bustling atmosphere.

Visited here with two friends after attempting to walk Fairfield Horseshoe. The weather was extreme and we gave up. Turning up like three drowned rats the greeting was pleasant and helpful. I was on the top floor and was very impressed with the room and ensuite. The bed was very comfy, the room was very clean and warm. The ensuite had... More

Arrived at 1.30pm and checked in. My wife and I was given a friendly greeting by the staff. The room was on the top floor and was warm, spacious and clean with a well stocked coffee and tea facilities. The room was equipped with a kettle, hairdryer and iron including ironing board. Yes the entrance to the car park is... More

Popped in for a light lunch, all 4 of us ordered sandwiches & shared chips which came to just under £30 for 4. There was hardly any cheese or ham in either sandwich, which was surprising as each cost over £5, service was ok but seemed expensive for what we got.

Lovely location - close to all the beautiful lakes and Fells. Very helpful and cheerful staff. Huge freshly cooked breakfasts which kept us going for hours! Room not overly large, but nice and clean; fine for the time we spent in there - just to sleep basically.

Me and my partner stayed here in May but have only just thought to review now as we revisit the lakes this month. We loved the hotel, we paid for a bigger room (I think it was room 21) a big bonus was the huge bathroom the room had but overall it was very clean with everything you needed and... More
