4 years since our last family visit and with new owners (although same management team), Helvellyn still excels and provides an astoundingly modern, spacious, uncluttered & clean retreat for our short break. We can forgive the Lake District for it's unpredictable weather when we wake up to a Noah's Ark of wildlife on the garden just below our window, Deer,... More

We spent a fantastic February half term weekend in this beautiful appartment with friends. The view from the open plan living room and master bedroom over lake Windermere was breathtaking. The appartment was exceptionally well equipped and luxouriously decorated and it was lovely to be able to step out of the patio doors and wander across the lawn to the... More

My boyfriend and I literally stumbled upon Pullwood on an impromptu visit that feels like years ago. We were immediately smitten, and fortunate to be able to stay here for four days in the spring. We found it centrally located with gorgeous views, privacy, and fully-stocked for all of our self-catering needs. This property has period details with the added... More

Having spent many happy times in the "Lakes" I decided my grandchildren should discover the delights. Found Curlew Close, (used trip adviser) looked good and size fitted, so I booked it, for Easter hols. What a good decision, beautifully positioned, clean and bright, ( the new owners have done a nice job), plenty of room for 2 energy filled boys,... More

Although there were only two of us we decided to rent this cottage so that we'd have plenty of space if the weather turned bad - lucky for us we were not disappointed by either the cottage or the weather! Curlew Close is a generously proportioned cottage located on the private (and beautiful!) Pullwood Bay estate, just a few minutes... More

Curlew Close was looking a bit tired and down at heel and so the new owners decided to give it a face lift. Re-decorated throughout with a more contemporary feel making the place much brighter. New heating for the cold weather stays. And opening up the eaves in one of the upstairs twin rooms has created a large room that... More

Ideally located on the North East corner of Lake Windemere within easy distance of popular Ambleside. The accommodation was very clean and comfortably equipped for our week's stay. The location was beautiful, set on a private estate mostly surrounded by woodland but within a minutes walk to a private jetty on Lake Windemere. The kitchen was small but adequate for... More

I used to visit pullwoodbay bay when it was known as Hyton Hill with my parents as a child. It has since been bought and some serious work has gone into the place. The grounds and location have always been superb but now the apartments are total luxury some of the best self catering I have ever stayed in! My... More

We stayed in one of the apartments in the main house, and for main part of the week it was OK. On the Thursday the electric and water were turned off all day, we had not been told about this before we arrived but they did know it was to happen. Our real problems began when the electric was turned... More

Thank you for your review. It is always disappointing when a guest leaves unhappy. You arrived at Pullwood Bay on Friday 29th August and upon arrival you were informed that on the following Thursday (4th September) the electricity supply would be switched off between 8am and 5pm, it was also stated that this would affect the water supply. This loss of... More

This is a lovely cottage, recently refurbished (we stayed in August 14) and very nicely furnished. Lots of walks nearby, great pubs and restaurants to choose and would highly recommended it. The only issue we had was low water pressure which meant poor showers and that you have to buy your own logs for the fire.
