Stayed for 2 nights here, in the front ensuite with a lovely view. The bedroom was lovely, clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good, served on hot plates which I prefer. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from pubs and shops and of course walks. The buses also run regularly through which is great if... More

Yeh. Clean, cosy and reasonably priced. Good breakfast and very pleasant owners. Within close walking distance of Ambleside where there is a shopping area, pubs and restaurants and, more importantly, very many beautiful walks. What more can you want?

We chose this B&B on price and location. The location is good only 5 minutes from the shops and restaurants. Our room was at the front of the building with great views over the town to the hills in the distance. Friendly owners who showed interest and gave advice on how to make the most of our stay.

Myself and husband stayed for two nights at Chappel House. We had a double room and a shared bathroom with a single room. This did not pose any problems at all. The view from our room was fantastic. The hosts were friendly and advised on best places to visit buses etc. The whole of the property was very clean and... More

Stayed at Chapel House for a family reunion. Grandparents had never had all grandchildren together at once and family had travelled from Northern Scotland, Lancashire, Cheshire and London. We had a wonderful weekend and were very well catered for by Fiona and Tina who were perfect hosts. Thank you for your hospitality and patience with such a large group. PS... More

An excellent inn - perfect location, comfortable, well maintained, a bit cozy (our room was small but perfectly functional), the breakfast was very well prepared and nicely understated. Fiona is a wonderful inn keeper. I look forward to my next visit.

We stayed for two nights in June 2015, it is a lovely place, and the owners are very friendly. The room/en suite was clean and we had plenty of space. We were very close to the centre of Ambleside so had easy access to the town. We would definately stay here again and plan to on our next visit.

My partner & I stayed here for 3 nights in June last year & it completely made our visit to the Lake District perfect. The building itself is charming & characterful; double fronted, local stone & large emerald green bay window; the interior is classic, homely and immaculately kept. It's in an ideal location, as it's about a minutes stroll... More

In the old part of town surrounded by interesting and attractive old buildings and same in the excellent short walk into the centre across the river. Interesting old building in itself, and excellent personal service and food including strawberries and other fresh fruit for breakfast, as well as a range of excellent hot food!
