Just been back for the second time to High Wray and I'm delighted to report it was as good as it was a year ago. Fantastic welcome from Sheila with tea and home made lemon drizzle cake on arrival. The rooms are all lovely with stunning views and the breakfast is quite simply the best I've tasted. Can't wait to... More

All the wonderful reviews certainly give an accurate account of how lovely the B & B is and Sheila's famous lemon drizzle cake and pot of tea on arrival. The cooked breakfast is amazing. In fact, Sheila's breakfast was the best we had during our 7 weeks of travelling Europe. Lovely farmhouse a little way out of town but well... More

My daughter brought me and my husband a weekend here from the 'buy a gift' company. We read the positive reviews and were not disappointed. B&B is situated in a beautiful spot, surrounded by countryside. We could walk to Lake Windemere from the public footpath just down the lane (about 10 minute walk). The bedrooms were tastefully decorated in a... More

Lovely farmhouse set in the perfect surroundings of the Lake District. On arrival Sheila made us feel perfectly welcome . The farmhouse was full of many period features. The bedroom was clean and spacious with great views . There was a communal lounge with a tv ,Internet and a relaxing atmosphere all of which was done with the warmth of... More

We stayed at High Wray Farm for a weekend in the front bedroom which was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean .. Sheila our host had thought about every little detail from matches in the living room to light the candles to an invitation to help yourself to a little port from the carafe at the top of the stairs to... Wonderful experience at this working farm. Just felt like home with a warm guest lounge to relax after a big day on the Lake (in the rain). The lemon drizzle cake and cup of tea on arrival was legendary, and Sheila was extremely accommodating with any requests we had. Very comfortable rooms with everything you could possibly need, and the... More

Sheila greeted us with a cup of tea and an absolutely gorgeous lemon drizzle cake, really moist and tangy. The house is a beautiful period property but with all mod cons, very warm and welcoming. The views are superb and it's so quiet really peaceful, there are lots of walks in the area including along the side of Windermere which... More

It was a rainy, drippy day when we wandered through the Lake District to Ambleside and Hawkshead. The road from Hawkshead to High Wray Farm was so off the beaten path, it felt as if we'd gone back in time...and in a way, we did. The setting, especially on this misty day with the clouds snagged on the hilltops, was... More

I have visited this lovely B&B on many occasions and it has always been wonderful. Sheila is very friendly, the rooms are beautifully decorated with tea trays with a choice of drinks, homemade biscuits, fresh milk and even sherry available. The breakfasts are amazing with an excellent selection to choose from. It is a working farm situated in a beautiful... More

Sheila gave us with a really warm welcome offering a lovely pot of tea with some delicious home-made cake. The accommodation was great with beautiful period rooms and relaxing atmosphere. If it's quiet surroundings and striking views you're looking for then this is for you. The bed we slept in was extremely comfortable and the room and en-suite bathroom was... More
