Sheila made us very welcome when we arrived with a cup of tea and a slice of delicious lemon drizzle cake. The Farm is in beautiful National Trust land with wonderful walks and the Lake a few minutes walk away. Ambleside is a 10 minute drive and the road to Coniston a great scenic journey. We highly recommend staying at... More

We spent 4 nights with friends in this idyllic spot. Sheila, the hostess, is always positive and helpful; she keeps the property wonderfully. The rooms are well appointed, spotlessly clean with gorgeous views. Little touches like home made cake and a cup of tea to welcome you and tasty shortbread by the bed. Cafetiere coffee if you wish it in... More

we were lucky to find a room at this fabulous B&B at short notice as there had just been a cancellation and we were given the lovely blue double room at the front overlooking the pretty garden. We were given tea and cakes in the lounge upon arrival which was very welcome. We could not fault this place in any... More

My boyfriend and I have just spent a lovely few days in the Lake District and thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at High Wray Farm. Sheila is very welcoming and when we arrived we were welcomed with coffee and lemon drizzle cake. The bedrooms are gorgeous and the beds are very comfortable. The ensuite has everything you need, complete with... More

This was my fourth stay with at the farm. We were greeted by the host Sheila Briggs and received a warm welcome with tea and cakes in the lounge in front of the log burning fire. This is just what was required after a day out in my boat on Windermere. We stayed in the twin room. The rooms are... More

My friend and I stayed at High Wray with her little boy in April and we were very impressed. There is a lovely sitting room which can be used by visitor as well as a beautiful garden. The decoration was tasteful and everything was clean and tidy. Sheila was on hand for any advise on places to eat and walks... More

I stayed with a friend in the twin room and we simply had a wonderful stay. Sheila is a very welcoming host who makes you feel right at home with the help of Pippin the cat. Nice bedding, you can place your suitcases under the beds. The door of the twin room does not have a key, but it is... More

This B&B does the basics really well. The beds are good, the breakfasts are excellent, there is enough hot water and the location is superb. However, Sheila who runs the place goes an extra mile or two in providing afternoon tea and cake (what more could you ask for after a hard day on the fells), and a glass of... More

Just visited High Wray Farm again and had the most fantastic four day break anyone could wish for. Every afternoon after returning from the fells, there was fire lit, friendly cat (Pippin) there to welcome us along with tea and home made shortbread. Also, this visit coincided with lambing time at the farm and Sheila's husband Chris was more than... More
