We stayed at Freshfields for a couple of nights over Easter. We were impressed by the friendly service, comfortable well equipped rooms, delicious breakfast and excellent location.
Although we stayed in the smallest of the three rooms, it was considerably larger than many we have stayed in in the Lakes. Freshfields has its own off road parking spaces,and a large porch with seating, so no hopping about on the doorstep trying to remove your boots after a day on the fells.
Freshfields is close to the centre of Ambleside with all its amenities and convenient for the start of many walks. It is also only a short walk to the lakeside and to the bus station. more
