I stayed at the Red Back on a walking trip. It was good a B & B as I have stayed in. George was a fantastic host and nothing was any trouble. The rooms are first class and a lot of time has been spent on, attention to detail. Keep up the great work.

Red bank is a brilliant b&b, in fact it's just like being at home and/or with family. George and Val run the guest house in a really friendly manner. The rooms are always immaculately clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts are the best in the lakes! If you've never stayed please give it a go, you will not be disappointed.... More

My wife and I stayed with brother/sister-in law and what a lovely peaceful place, we all stayed Fri and Sat at the end of March and the weather was a bit wet, but we all totally enjoyed our stay. George and Val are fantastic hosts, the complimentary sherry in the decanter on the landing is a really nice touch. The... More

it was our second stay with George and Val at Red Bank. They run a faultless B&B - every detail is taken care of. Breakfast is superb, room is so comfortable, bathroom spotless. We had our flask filled with coffee each morning to keep us going during the walking days. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Red Bank is... More

This was our first time at Red Bank and one we hope to repeat. A lovely place to stay with delightful hosts in George and Val. The room was beautifully decorated and the attention to detail was wonderful. Perfectly situated for an easy walk to town and to explore the local area. Their knowledge of the local area is really... This was our second stay at this wonderful B&B, which says a lot because we don't usually return to the same place. The house is lovely and the hosts George and Van made us feel welcome and were so friendly. They are very good at running this place. Red Bank is perfectly located for what we want. Is is close... The biggest compliment we can pay was that I found myself inadvertently saying after our first night - " and when we go home", referring to Red Bank when on a trip round the Lakes. So it is homely, warm, comfortable and in the heart of world beating scenery even in winter. Don't bother with hotels, Red Bank is such... More

Good to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and you enjoyed Val's cooked to order breakfast ( she does make good omelettes). Hope to see you later this year. More

George and Val couldn't do enough for us. They were very attentive and helpful throughout. We arrived early at 1145am, very weary after the drive up, Val made us a pot of tea and we sat by the fire until our room was ready shortly after. That was very much appreciated and needed after the long drive. The room (no.1)... More

Thank for your comments and Val and I try to make our guests visit as comfortable as possible. All our food for breakfast is sourced locally and cooked to order so nothing has been under a heat lamp or in the oven for 30 minutes before it is served. Shame you did not mention the room temp when you were... More
