We stayed here for our first stay in the Lakes. Although Val was called away on family business, George coped admirably. He made us feel as though we had selected the best place to stay. The B&B was full every night bar one night of our stay. One couple had stayed before, which speaks for itself. We would certainly return... More

I will have no hesitation recommending this B&B. This has to be one of the best we have stayed at. The hosts are warm and friendly. A welcome cup of tea and biscuits were appreciated on arrival. The room and shower were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with local produce being used. The location is only a short walk... More

Red Bank is not your average B&B, it is outstanding and well deserving of its five star rating. The room was spacious and luxurious, with lots of lovely little touches. George and Val very friendly. Good choice for breakfast, freshly cooked to order and set us up for a days walking. Close enough to stroll into Ambleside for something to... More

We spent four nights at this comfortable B&B right in the heart of Ambleside. Val and George were very helpful and accommodating, and the Super King size bed warm and comfortable. George gave us excellent advice on choosing our driving routes, and the decanter of complimentary sherry out in the hall for the three bedrooms to share, was a welcome... More

Just had our second visit to Red Bank. As before, rooms comfortable, breakfast excellent and hosts welcoming and friendly. It's the little extras that make it so good. Not much else to say except we will return in the future

Booked two nights here after reviewing various other places and was not disappointed. Rates are reasonable and it is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Hosts Val and George were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is cooked to your choice that morning (ie you do not have to pre order the night before). It is not mentioned on the website but they... More
