Location is a few mins walk away fromall the restaurants and pubs so very easy, a carpark which is also great. The breakfasts were great, brill veggie breakfast with the... More

B and B or Small Hotel, whichever Elder Grove has everything needed for a pleasant stay. There are hundreds of other reviews to confirm this so I won't bore you further. Room 8 is one of the few rooms at the back and is quiet with a very comfortable King sized bed making for a good nights sleep. This is... More

First time at Elder Grove and will definitely return. Stayed in room 4 which was a lovely large, warm room and beautifully decorated. Bathroom modern and had complimentary shower gel, body lotion which smelt of lemongrass and geranium. Tea and free coffee facilities in the bedroom. The breakfast was perfect and something on offer for all tastes from cereals, hot... More

This was our second visit to the Elder Grove. Hosts friendly and the breakfasts were superb every morning with an excellent choice of locally sourced produce. Marmalade and jams are home made as well. Rooms at the back are quieter and have the best views. A great place to stay in Ambleside.

We stayed at Elder Grove for 3 nights at the end of November. it is best to book directly with the B&B to get the best rate, The winter rates are very good value for money. Paul and Vicky are welcoming hosts and were both very helpful and friendly throughout the duration of our visit. We have even received a... More

I was on my own and stayed in Ambleside for just 2 nights. I cannot say enough good about ElderGrove B&B. From the very second I arrived I was made welcome and they helped in every way possible. My single room (Rm 7) was small but it had everything I could want and it was perfect. I had an electric... More

I would recommend anyone to stay at the Elder Grove Guest House. A perfect place to stay in Ambleside. We only stayed for one night but what sets it apart from the others are the extra little touches. Everything I wanted or could have wanted was there. Fabulous breakfast made using local suppliers, very comfortable bed, very clean, plenty parking,... More

Have just returned from 3 nights at the Elder Grove guest house. This is a great place to stay - it is extremely well run, the breakfast is one of the best ever and nothing is too much trouble. There's plenty of advice on local walks and the distance from the centre of town is perfect.
