No air con in the rooms, all the staff could do was offer a fan that worked and some cold water at 3am. the tempreture in the room was aproaching 30 and the windows only open 2 inches for "security". The website states that all rooms have in room cooling... Utter rubbish! The ONLY highpoint were the staff in the... more

I stayed at this hotel on a Friday and Saturday night at the end of July. We wanted a cheap hotel as we were visiting relatives in the area and therefore did not expect much for the £59 per night that we paid for the room and breakfast for 2 but the hotel surpassed all of my expectations Really friendly... more

Having visited the Village hotel a number of times I will no longer be returning. The rooms are fine as usual as is the food. My problem is with the health club which is now looking tatty. Whoever runs it is clearly only interested in saving money rather that wanting people to enjoy the facilities. The air con in the... more

The Village is a cut above most hotels at this price. There is an excellent leisure facility. The food in the restaurant or the bar is much better than you wold expect. Bar also serves real ale! Marstons and Sptifire were available for us. The staff are pleasant and friendly. Free wi fi is a boon. One of the few... more

On been shown around, we saw numerous half empty trays lying in the corridors. We were later informed that what the co-ordinator had promised, we couldn't have after all. If... more

Stayed one night on a business trip last year. Great room, fab pool and sauna, followed by a lovely meal in a busy vibrant restaurant and then a beer watching the football on sky in the bar. What more can a man want. more

This is an average hotel but the excellent rates available through their own website make it exceptional value. It is located on an industrial estate about 4 miles from the city centre. There are loads of parking spaces and 5 minutes walk away their is a park and ride service into the city centre. Rooms at the front of the... more
