The staff that I met were both knowlegable and very helpful. The room I used was reasonably comfortable. unfortunatlely the advertised Wi Fi was not working and although given a code to use the internet I did have great difficulty and eventually gave up

The price indicated this was a budget hotel but I have scored it poor value for money because it was grim to say the least and it would have been worth spending a few more pounds to get something more comfortable. There should still be certain standards despite what one pays but this place didn't seem to hold to that.There... More

Stayed for one night and was very pleasantly surprised. After reading some of the reviews I was quite worried about my stay. The hotel was easy to find and check in very easy. Bedroom was clean and the bed very comfortable. Decor colour scheme a bit strange but otherwise fine, staff were very helpful and friendly. For a city centre... More

Just come back from a stay at the Gilson Hotel. The hotel is in a good central location. The decor is a bit dated, but I found the bedroom to be clean, spacious and warm & the en-suite modern. Jonathan on reception was very helpful. I thought it was very good value for money.

Good price for 1 night, room abit shabby, hole in the door, toilet got blocked and started overflowing for no apparent reason! No parking. Shower pressure was good! Minimal staff interaction. Breakfast could improve for £6.50! A few other guests being sick around the hotel which wasn't cleaned up promptly or effectively. All in all not the worst I've stayed... More

Bit concerned after reading some of the reviews on this place but didn't need to worry it was very good for a cheap hotel and I have stayed in worse and paid a hell of a lot more. One thing I have to say don't go by the postcode on the site, it's 100% wrong and sends you about a... More
