Staying at this hotel was maybe not one of our best choices, the room we stayed in was not what we thought, chewing gum stuck to the carpet, remote control not working, air con not working, pubic hair on the side of the bath, need I go on!!!! Looks very good when entering the hotel but nights a very noisy,... More

Just back home after a two night stay at the Mercure Royal in Hull. The break was booked with a ASDA "Deluxe Hotels"" gift voucher. The Hotel is very old and a long way from being classed as Deluxe. There is a plaque in Reception by the lifts explaining that Queen Victoria had stayed there so yes it is very... More

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past year and every time it has been a fantastic experience. Rooms are always clean and well presented. Staff are extremely professional and friendly. The location is great for shopping and eating out. Excellent value for money all round.

On entering the hotel it was quite impressive and the front of house staff very polite. We booked for our anniversary, so paid extra for the privileged suite. We were given room 315 and although it was ok, it certainley wasn't privileged quality. There was a hole in the carpet, cobwebs clearly visible and everything was laid out for one... More

I stayed here with my wife on the 20th Aug 14. We have family in the area and this seemed an ideal base for the night. The hotel is in a good location, literally next door to the station, and 2 mins walk away from some good shops and places to eat. That really is about the best of it.... More

If you are travelling by train fantastic, you are on the station, other wise parking is easy, lots of spaces.Arrival at the hotel was to a warm welcome from Mel, and that warmth from all the staff continued, from the bar staff, cleaners and restaurant staff , it was a pleasant surprise from a city hotel. The hotel is an... More

A great hotel - comfy spacious room - very quiet despite the amount of people staying there. No kids thank God! Substantial breakfast and pleasant staff. Communal areas very impressive in a traditional way. Couldn't be better located! Strongly recommended.

Our first impression was most encouraging as the hotel has maintained its outward dignified classical 'railway hotel' appearance. The combined reception /lounge has a beautiful ceiling providing a most pleasing ambience whilst the staff were polite, efficient and helpful. Our bedroom was very satisfactory being tastefully decorated and immaculately clean.Although the air conditioning unit was out of service we were immediately provided with... My husband and I got married here on the 15th March 2014. I cannot fault the wedding coordinators attention to detail. Tyler and Nicki are a credit to the hotel. We stayed for a total of two nights with our families booking out lots of the rooms. Everyone was happy with their stay. Breakfast was lovely and we were all... More
