I had approached this stay with some trepidation as some of the reviews had been less than positive. However we had a quiet. clean and comfortable standard room with a great view. Parking was easy and free. We had ready access to the station and bus/coach station so didn't need the car once parked up. Staff were very helpful, cheerful... More

Stayed here for two nights on the 12th/13th of September. Had an all inclusive package breakfast, lunch, 2 course dinner and free drinks between 7.00pm and 11.00pm each day. £89 per couple each day booked through great little breaks. The Quality of the food and the portions at dinner could not be faulted many thanks to all on the catering... More

I always stay at the Hull Royal as it is conveniently located directly at the train station and offers a business standard along with Victorian flair. The bar area offers charming large leather sofas and huge palm plants which creates a winderful atmosphere to relax in.

Stayed here for one night. It is a grand old building, yet the rooms are modern and what you expect from a Mercure. Very clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Although next to the railway station and on a main road, my room was very quiet. Dinner and breakfast were both very... More

Booked so we could "do" the City parts of the Larkin Trail without having to think about travelling home to Howden. Not a massive hotel fan as so often disappointed even when places have good feedback. Loved it. Couldn't have been better placed for the Larkin signs with No 1 in the lounge bar, No 2 outside the entrance to... More

Went for 2 nights on a Buyagift deal. Glad to have paid only £99 and not the originally advertised price as overall experience rather disappointing. Room was a drab, plain, high ceilinged room with just enough of what you needed for a sleeping / showering space. Because of the lack of air conditioning we had to keep the window open... More

I booked this hotel on a well known site. I was travelling with family for a family wedding and booked three rooms. Unfortunately my circumstances changed and I telephoned to cancel a room. I was advised that the rooms had been paid for and I could not cancel the room without penalty. Very disappointing. I appreciated that these deals are... More

Stayed here while working a few days in Hull. The hotel is so conveniently located that I did not have to leave the station to access the hotel as it adjoins it! Out the other side the entrance leads onto the city centre. A simply presented room as I have experienced in other Mercure hotels i had a view onto... More

This is a lovely city centre hotel but one with character. It's in an excellent location for all the attractions in Hull and having free parking is an added bonus. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and nice bright bathroom. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was good, a lovely selection and all freshly cooked. Staff were... More
