I have tayed at this hotel many times and when I lived in Hull for work, this is where my family stayed when they visited. The hotel itself is situated in a prime position for sightseeing in Hull. It is is near to the main museums and shops, and has a superb restaurant which is open to the public. I... More

Despite paying single suppliment we were still given two very small bedrooms which were dirty and smelled of cigarettes. Lights didn't work, chairs filthy, nets filthy and paper peeling off the wall and bathroom ceiling. Asked to be moved and we were - to two double rooms. My room had not been cleaned, pair of used tights on bathroom floor,... More

From begining to end this was awful. The reception staff were very nice but hotel advertised hotel parking but they had changed this recently and not advised any intending guests. So options were on street at 2.90 per two hrs. The room we booked was twin and it was tiny to say the least you could sit on the loo... More

I stayed at this hotel with a coach group they have clean rooms central location but the service leaves a lot to be desired they had fifty odd passenger write tick off on a menu what they would like for dinner then have them put their room number on it and they still managed to get it wrong and the... Tremendous value for money and a good city centre location. Hotel is rather tired but was ore than adequate for our needs. Our bedroom, which was on the 5th floor, was clean and satisfactory. Downside was that it had old fashioned crt tv, with poor signal - it was cold outside but hadn't expected snow on the tv screen -... More

Booked a cheap weekend away with friends and the Portland Hotel seemed perfect. The location was spot on and the price was excellent. Upon arrival we dropped the car into the 'parking' but found that even though it states hotel parking on the sign above the entrance it is actually just an entry point to the laundry section. Check in... More

I arrived on a Friday afternoon to find the accomodation superb-a twin room-with ensuite bathroom. It was nicely set out, with a Dimplex wall heater to adjust the room temperature, double glazed facing onto Paragon Street itself.3rd Floor. The noise level of the street could barely be heard even at night when the Friday night crowd were about. The bed was a little too soft,but... Good location but with no parking at all - a major draw back. The rooms are a long way from luxury but are functional and the free WIFI is a great bonus. The breakfast was like the rest of the stay ... average.
