Nice old building, formerly the Wellington Hotel. Building is 150 years old, so no air conditioning in the room - and I was there on hottest day of the year. Staff offered fans. All staff very helpful. For £35 including breakfast I cannot complain. Also, being an old building, the soundproofing isn't the best, but I slept very well.

I chose this hotel both for its location and for the fact that it is a Travelodge. Previously I have had good experiences with them in other locations but this one is very disappointing. It is a shabby rather rundown and tatty hotel. There is a very small car park which you have to pay for (and the meter is... More

Stinking hellhole of a place. We had no intention of staying there again, but we found ourselves stuck for somewhere to grab a few hours rest. Horrible creepy vibe, with the feel of a Victorian institution, which is fitting really as you'd have to be barking mad to stay here. The staff do their best and really are very pleasant, and... More

Royal Tunbridge Wells deserves a premium hotel and Travelodge fails miserably. The "Wellington Hotel" built in the 1800's is a beautiful building let to go to rack and ruin by the Travelodge company. Creaky floors, sash windows rotting away, no double glazing hence road noise all night. Room cleaners who have no idea what toiletries a lady needs. Soap would... More

I chose this hotel for price and location to my work for that day. Parking was an extra £3 which surprised me as I can't remember seeing it on their website description - my fault. Can't see the point of having a pay and display system in a hotel. There is not a lot of space and I had to... More

After booking a 3 night stay i read the reviews and was very concerned by the comments made. Well, the hotel has seen better days but we quite enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful and i found our room to be clean and spacious. The breakfast was very good with staff constantly present to replace food items if... More

the staff at this hotel are just amazing really caring and professional BUT the hotel is in a huge need of totally gutting and refurbishment. You have to pay for a parking space and there are not enough of them!! It's a old building which is in keeping with the town but the charm ends there. All the floorboards creek... More

This is a beautifull building with the most magnificent staircase the whole place is crying out for somone to put it back into its former glory I know it would take some money but for heavens sake its a hotel where the traveller can feel comfortable and relaxed not nervous and uncomfortable about the surroundings.
