Had a very enjoyable one night stay here, visiting friends in Tunbridge Wells. Harold, who owns the property, is very welcoming & takes great joy in explaining the history of the building. It's very clear this place really is his pride & joy. Nothing was too much, he even did a bit of ironing for us & sourced us a... More

Currently staying for two nights for a concert at the assembly halls. William morris room. Victoriana everywhere. Peace calm and tranquillity. Harold ,a retired butler is a gentleman. A return to manners, etiquette and decorum. Earlier review suggests you will want to dress up for dinner...and you will ! Its not required nor expected but go with it,the experience of staying... How I envy the reviewer who stayed at this oasis for three months. If you seek asylum from the twentieth-century and all its nauseating ugliness, reside here. It offers the comforts of a more homely establishment, rather than the scale of a 'grand palace' style. Mr Brown is the perfect host, and the candle-lit dinners are exquisite. Upon departure, you... If you want a reception, full-length mirrors and in-room TV and phone etc. then give this a miss else this is simply a lovely place to stay. It's decorated and fitted-out in the style of the mid-Victorian house it is and has a lovely plush feel to it. It really does feel like going back in time about 150 years,... More

I stayed with my cousins at the Victorian B & B. Harold was our host and was attentive to our needs. The whole house was amazing.. A real collectors find. The rooms were spotless, the facilities modern yet in keeping. Afternoon tea was a delight taken in the drawing room with the most delicious cake and proper tea. Morning tea... More

From arriving for afternoon tea and home-made cake to leaving after a great breakfast a stay at this B & B is packed with Victorian discoveries. The whole house, as far as currently developed for guests, is completely and utterly in period and a joy to behold, in fact it's difficult to stop oneself staring around at the pictures, royal... We stayed at the Victorian Bed and Breakfast for the first (but not the last) time in December 2013. The decor is fascinating, the service outstanding, beds wonderfully comfortable and we had the best breakfast for a very long time. The house is situated off the road - with off road parking - and within easy walking distance of central... More

This B&B is definitely worth a visit. The owner/host (Harold) is an ex butler and knows how to look after his guests. It is like stepping back in time... amazing decoration and artefacts and Harold has so much information about the things in the house and victorian times, it is really interesting. Afternoon tea is served on arrival. The breakfast... More

just one night there, very comfortable & warm with open fires in the public areas. Unique, original Victorian furniture, pictures, bathroom fittings & even wallpaper. We were made to feel most welcome & Harold was happy to explain the history & significance of many of his extensive collection of artefacts. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, happy to return anytime.
