We stayed here as part of our 31st anniversary trip. Owner and host, Harold is just wonderful. He was ready to meet any need or question we had. He served the perfect cup of tea accompanied by fascinating stories about his home and life. If you love history and the Victorian age, this is the place for you. We stayed... More

Not much to add to what the other reviewers wrote. This house, which was built in 1860, is loaded with Victorian original antiques and art. It is more like a tiny museum, with 3 bedrooms. Harold (the owner) is a friendly guy and we enjoyed chatting with him. Book over the phone and you will be able to get a... More

We stayed only one night but The Victorianism and truly enigmatic welcome we received from Harold was worth more than the featured four stars of this establishment. A step back in time a step forward in manners. Everything was as should have been back in the 1860s but just so correct, view the website to believe then book up and experience... More

Harold the owner of the B&B had decorated every room in high Victoriana. Our room was lovely and light facing the street with big windows. The room is quiet with very comfy beds. Excellent cooked breakfast with linen cloths and fine china. Heaps of delicious food and fresh coffee and freshly squeezed juices. Afternoon tea was a scrumptious Victoria sponge... More

we stayed her 3 nights i the beginning of May and had two rooms. Both rooms are different and well decorated in the victorian style. My room was toward the wonderful garden and very quiet. The other was toward the street, but a quiet street. Parking was easy. The host was very serviceminded and told us where to eat and... More

I can only echo what others have written: This is a wonderful place to stay. Harold has lovingly transformed this Victorian residence. It is beautiful. It is an easy walk to the center of Tunbridge Wells. We were in the William Morris Suite. It is so beautiful with the spacious bathroom. Staying here was really one of the highlights of... More

I would have paid just to hear Harold's interesting stories and see the fine collection of antiques. It was great to share his passion of the Victorian era with him. The room was very comfortable and the house is immaculate - you can tell a lot of thought has gone into every small detail. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and... More

Had a very enjoyable one night stay here, visiting friends in Tunbridge Wells. Harold, who owns the property, is very welcoming & takes great joy in explaining the history of the building. It's very clear this place really is his pride & joy. Nothing was too much, he even did a bit of ironing for us & sourced us a... More

Currently staying for two nights for a concert at the assembly halls. William morris room. Victoriana everywhere. Peace calm and tranquillity. Harold ,a retired butler is a gentleman. A return to manners, etiquette and decorum. Earlier review suggests you will want to dress up for dinner...and you will ! Its not required nor expected but go with it,the experience of staying... How I envy the reviewer who stayed at this oasis for three months. If you seek asylum from the twentieth-century and all its nauseating ugliness, reside here. It offers the comforts of a more homely establishment, rather than the scale of a 'grand palace' style. Mr Brown is the perfect host, and the candle-lit dinners are exquisite. Upon departure, you...
