The rooms, bathrooms and overall facilities of the hotel are of a very good standard. It's especially nice to have a large bathroom, which many rooms do have. Unfortunately, there are lots of niggling little problems, each relatively insignificant but taken together show an overall lack of care. For example, there was a 10 minute wait to check in as... Rooms were large, clean and quiet; however, the beds were hard but I suppose that's an individual choice. Breakfast overpriced for what it was at £14 (even for children) with very greasy English breakfast. Tea for two in lobby was disappointing -- one small cup of tea each, without a top up of hot water, £6 each. The pool was... More

The hotel itself is a fine old building, with magnificent dining room overlooking garden. Our standard double room was decent size and decor, and very clean with lovely modern bathroom. The buffet breakfast fat £13 per person is slightly overpriced. The spa was disappointing, the space is poorly organised, a bit shabby and the pool itself is quite small (10m).... More

Great stay in hotel. Large rooms, slightly old fashioned décor but spotlessly clean and breakfast lovely, although we had to wait for toast and this arrived after we had finished breakfast. Staff in champagne bar and night porter were particularly polite and helpful.

I have booked this hotel for my wedding in 2015 (We're getting married at Penshurst Place, 15 minutes away). I booked this through the venue, and a friend’s recommendation, and wasn't disappointed. The main lounge is lovely and welcoming, I don’t think it looks tired at all (I’ve seen this in some reviews). Our room was spacious and clean and... More

Stayed on a Friday night so that we could eat in TW. We had a traditional executive room - a bit -1980s Laura Ashley in style, but generously proportioned with a huge if oddly arranged ensuite. Although on 2nd floor overlooking the rear and some ominously large extractor fans, we were blissfully unaware of any noise even with the windows... More

stayed here for work one night, everything was clean and service efficient. The hotel has character but there was nothing that wowed me, the food/rooms were good but not great. Be aware that breakfast can also take a while to arrive, I think that for the business market (which it appeared to cater to) a hot buffet breakfast may be... More

A much needed peaceful and restful overnight, lovely views from our enveloping four poster bed. Had time to enjoy fabulous big bath and a really nice vegan friendly full English breakfast, very appreciated. Would happily stay again.

Spotlessly clean, pleasing decor, uncomfortable beds. Breakfast excellent , dinner was average but we were with a big group! Service and some hotel staff average. Treatments and Pool very good. Just sneaked Hotel into very good rather than good, when you put everything together !

Lovely location, walking distance to town, but just outside in quieter, greener area. Very friendly and helpful staff in all functions including Spa a, comfortable rooms, attractive grounds and very good food.
