Tunbridge Wells is a beautiful place to stay and, subsequently most hotels charge an astronomical rate for a stay. This hotel, although in need of some redecoration offers excellent value for money. We paid £100 for a Friday night with breakfast included and I have nothing but praise for the staff and indeed the food. Our room was tired and... More

Spent a couple of nights here, excellent service. I was in room 12 at the back. It was just before Christmas , so parties were in full rage, non the less, I slept like a baby. Breakfast is probably the only down fall, as it really isn't up to parr, rubber sausages and strange eggs.

We stayed at the Royal Wells for 2 nights in June. The hotel is an historic Tunbridge Wells hotel which is showing its age. There's no air conditioning in the rooms which can make them hot in summer. We stayed in room 20 which was nicely decorated, but some overhead extractor fan kept switching off and on constantly throughout the... More

My son decided he wanted to say at a hotel as a treat for his 5th birthday. We live in the area but hadn't stayed in any local hotels. It was a fairly last minute thing so after a check on prices and availability we chose the Royal Wells. It certainly has a lot of history, is nicely located and... More

We stayed as part of a wedding party and we were really excited as we were first to book in the group and were told we had a really lovely room. It was well decorated, but tiny, we could hardly walk around the bed. Other guests in the wedding party paying the same rate had rooms that were double the... More

Stayed here after being moved from another hotel. Checked in to a lovely room with huge bed, shower and wonderful facilities. Unfortunately once we got in to bed at approx 1am following a late check in an extractor fan was going off every 30 seconds right above us and sounds like a jet engine! I rung down and was informed... More

Stayed here for one night as part of a wedding. Lovely little hotel with one or two failings on the day. The room across from us had a dog that would not stop barking from 7am. The breakfast is budgeted! Half a rasher of bacon and half a black pudding each can only down to GP or poor stock planning.... More

Last minute booking as my normal haunt was fully booked, and am so glad it was! This is a truly lovely hotel, comfortable and well appointed with loads of history that has not been lost by modernisation. Breakfast was included in the price and was very good.

Shame as in parts the hotel is in need of attention due to the age of the building. That aside, the staff were great. We stayed over on Friday night and the bar was heaving and took us a long time to be served, but the dinner was beautiful, as was the quality of the food for breakfast! Bedroom was... More
