We were looking forward to our stay in the well located hotel. Welcoming reception from staff and a delightful surprise at the quality of our double room. English hoteliers are finally catching up with the high standards that our European neighbours provide. However, the warning in the booking of ' can be noisy at weekends' does not begin to describe... More

Have stayed here lots of times... Close to 6 times a year! The hotel is perfectly placed on the very attractive harbour and walking distance from the shops, pubs and clubs. It can be noisy at night, with the neighbouring bars but we have always found it a very comfortable and welcoming stay. The staff are absolutely brilliant... And the... More

Stayed one night. Fabulous room (102) overlooking the harbour - spacious, attractive, spotless. Breakfast in the attractive adjoining cafe was first class, promptly served. I did get a special rate - attending a conference - but would recommend at the standard rate.

We booked a seaview room for the Valentine's weekend, left in the middle of the night to drive back home - why? The nightclub next door started its never-ending mindless music around 11:00pm and combined with the noise of the guests spilling onto the pavement in front of the hotel we could not take it! Such a shame, room was... More

Cannot open windows, so much noise doors slamming, walls so thin.staff have a I dont care attitude. I have stayed at this hotel twice and neither stay was enjoyable. On both occasions I have had to miss breakfast which I have paid for. I will not recommend this hotel at all. An example of how to not run a hotel... More

Many Thanks for taking the time to write a review on tripadvisor. I am disappointed that you felt the need to write this review after I personally emailed you with a response to your comments, especially as you have failed to give all of the information on this review. You have said that the windows do not open, however when... More

Stayed here for one night last week, Friendly staff very nice room well decorated suitable for my needs after a day working, right in front of the harbour ,would be great on a summer evening. Reasonably priced. However no lift to floors, which would be a major drawback for some visitors. limited parking to the front of hotel but permit... More

Stayed here for an evening weddin g celebration of our niece. The welcome was very friendly and we were allowed to check in early as our rooms were ready. Had a drink in the bar next door and felt it was in part a shame we were eating at the function as the food being served to customers in there... More

It was okay. Very basic but staff helpful and room was comfy! I came to visit family and it was a perfect location. Only downside was lack of parking or parking permits for guests. It does get very loud at night but luckily I was in the back area so I could avoid the noise.

Well when we came down the hill and saw scaffolding etc our hearts dropped. How ring we were. Lovely people, comfy hotel and friendly and helpful staff. We had a great dinner there and the staff were genuinely interested in making our stay a great one. I feel that those who did not want to stay up til 3am needed... More

Worth avoiding if you can. An old, small, extremely hot hotel with poor beds. Try elsewhere if you can. Stayed as part of a group and no one enjoyed the hotel, warrants the two star status as just not a nice place to spend a night......
