Very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast served in the room. Access through the garden via the back door, so no need to disturb the owner. Garage parking was available although we were happy to park in the street outside.

My wife and I stayed here on 23rd September. We turned up last minute and the only room available was the family room. Our double bed was very comfortable and sleep quality was excellent. The shower was disappointing, warm and slow running at best. We ordered breakfast, which was served in our room, for 8.30am and it arrived at 8.20... More

A very nice building with nice rooms of a decent size (except for the small but functional bathrooms), an effervescent and very helpful owner, a good breakfast and a good price. There seemed to be street parking around but make use of the garages if you can - booking it won't guarantee anything but they moved things around to accommodate... More

We stayed with Margaret at the No 1 Guest House last week on our way back from Europe - as we have done with our children for the last 12 years. The house is a couple of minutes drive from the ferry port, and 5 min. walk from the town centre. The rooms are clean, smart and comfortable, and have... More

Me and my family have been coming back here for years. The rooms are warm and comfortable, service is brilliant and the location is perfect for easy access to all of Dover's main attractions as well as the port.

We found this B&B on the Internet for a short stay during the summer. It is very centrally located, easy walking distance to the castle. The room we had was a little on the small side, but excellent value and had a private entrance onto the back garden. Breakfast served in the bedroom was a little unusual at first, but... More

We stayed at Number One Guest House in mid-August 2013 for 2 nights. We found the proprietors to be friendly and helpful, providing us with directions, recommendations for places to eat, information about the history of Dover. The landlord even gave us a lift up the road to the castle. The breakfasts were tasty and accommodated a vegetarian diet. It... More

Stopped here on the way and back to Euro Disney, Margaret made us feel so welcome and took a shine to our grandkids as they did the same to her lovely little walled garden for them to play in, breakfast served in rooms made it feel special, made use of the secure garage parking they offer as it gives peace... Very nice B&B, pleasant owner. The house is charming, both inside and out, Listed building. Breakfast was nice - no porridge but tradition English breakfast and some good vegetarian options. We stayed for one night after returning from the continent. Very nice overall. One caveat - Some reviews mention a damp or cold room. They are referring to room number... More

After touring the UK for 3 months, I can honestly say that we have voted this as being the best B&B that we stayed in. (And we stayed in quite a few) We stayed for 3 nights. It was clean and comfortable and had the most wonderful olde worldy charm about it. I loved the gorgeous breakfast area of our... More
