Last week I read some of the reviews about Castle Guest House, we just came back from the Guest House, the owners were friendly and kindly and know a lot about the area, the breakfast we had those days was good and the room was nice/clean, same was the shower and toilet. The place where we could park our car,... more

The castle guest house is a very dated B&B. The room we were in was extremely tiny, maybe 10'x12'. The bathroom was fit for a submarine. The food was average. Also, depending on which room you are in, it might be a very long walk up the stairs to get to it. I think we were on the 5th floor?... more

After reading these reviews I have to say my experience wasn't as bad as others seem to have had. I went in November for a romantic gettaway and to visit the Castle. I found this site the day before we were due to travel and was horrified at some of the comments leaving me wishing we hadnt booked this guest... more

We have stayed in this B&B for the past 3 years prior to our trip across to France. Rodney and Elizabeth are lovely and are eager to please, with a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The Breakfast is a must but unfortunately for us we miss it most of the time as we have breakfast on the ferry due to... more

the website has a panoramic view of the rooms!! The bedding was disgusting and the wine coloured satin cover had white stains all over it (I have the photos!) We had the 'Deal' room..the view was a brick wall! the decor was tacky and badly , shoddily done. I would reccomend the guest house opposite which is owned by the... more

We were on the fifth floor, and the stairs were quite narrow. Fortunately, the rooms were nice enough and the hosts were quite friendly. It was a good location for access to Dover Castle, and offered a nice view of the town itself from up on high. All in all, a good stay. p.s. - don't bring big suitcases if... more

I stayed in this hotel in 2004, but only just found it on here other wise I would have made a review sooner. In no way can I recommend this hotel. It was dated, which sometimes can not be helped, but the the cleanliness was very poor. Our daughter was only 4 at the time and we were shown to... more

When I spoke to the owners about booking the accommodation for 3-4 nights per week for 6 months during a work contract in the area , they offered their s/c apartment across the road at no.4. This was supposed to be self contained. The house was split into several flats. The one allocated to me was on the ground floor... more

I completely agree with Damien T98's review. The Castle Guest House was very disappointing and very overpriced. When we booked the B & B we were told there was parking. When we arrived, it turned out the parking was way off-site and up a hill. Not any securer than the on-street parking. At the time of our arrival, the owners... more

If you're visiting Dover (as opposed to just overnighting en route for the continent), then you can't get a better positioned B&B than this one. It's also spitting distance from the ferry terminals, but its real strength is the 5mn walk to the Castle. In reply to one other reviewer, yes, you'll want the car if you are wheelchair-bound, have... more
