This hotel was booked for one night as it was cheap. You get what you pay for and it was adequate. Room was Ok size for one night although out dated and needed TLC. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The shower wasnt great. We followed instructions for hot water which was fine. There wasn't much... More

We booked this hotel through Booking.com. It only cost us £35.00 for a double room. We were not looking for anything great. We were greeted at the door and handed the keys and told the room was somewhere upstairs. We didn't want any fuss just a room. A bit like staying at old aunt Ethel's house. Although the hotel was... Stayed here one night due to catching the early ferry. We were not looking for anything extravagant and went for price and amenities. We got a double room with 4 poster bed with on-suite for £40. We were greeted at the door, registered, shown the room and given the keys - reading other posts this appears to be a problem... More

Only stayed the night to catch an early ferry. Arrived quite late and left early but room was comfortable with private bathroom and was quiet enough to have a good night's sleep. Was only £40 and have stayed in horrible places for double that. Parking was tight as we were the 4th car so back end stuck out a little... More

Haven't been to dover for many years and have no inclination to return any time soon. Folkestone Road where the B and B is situated is a bit down at heel and I was approached three times by beggars making the walk into town pretty irritating. Having said that Clare House is an acceptable little oasis with a warm welcome... More

Booked as we had an early ferry. Confirmed before arriving that we had a double room with bathroom and price. Rang night before and price had gone up! On arrival found no bathroom in room - shared facilities. Room very dated and smelly, tv didn't work, sheets that my nana used to use. Avoid at all costs! !!!

We booked because very close to ferry dock, we do have some mobility issues so stairs were difficult for us. The staff was brilliant suggesting a wonderful place for dinner and calling a taxi for us, so wouldn't lose parking space. Breakfast was really great. Enjoyed it. It was road noisey and bed was not that comfortable, but managed. Would... More

We booked this as an overnight stay whilst attending the Winter Ale Festival. Yes it's in need of a bit of an update, but you get what you pay for and it's comfortable. The lady who greeted us was very welcoming and laid on a fantastic breakfast. Only niggle was that we had to wait until the room next door... More
