We stayed for two nights over a weekend. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend Loddington House to anyone staying in Dover. It is a cute B&B with a beautiful little rose garden, somewhat retro decor and is very accessible, a short 15m walk from the town centre. Probably a quirk of the architecture, but... More

We stayed for one night before our cruise in early August, 2011.We received a very warm welcome by host, Robert, who helped take our heavy luggage up the stairs. He was very helpful with local restaurant recommendations and sights to see. We were in a nice room at the front and despite the typical English weather, the view was great.... More

We stayed here two days prior to a cruise. As noted by previous reviewers, Robert, the owner makes this place. He's your reservationist, greeter, porter, concierge and waiter, and you're his most important guest. The hotel is a nicely maintained 1800's row house right on the Channel waterfront with Dover Castle directly behind. The public areas retain their historic features,... More

Stayed there on our way on the way to a HA cruise in August. Location was great as is close to down town and Dover Castle. Our bedroom window looked out onto the wartime caves so was quieter than if we were in the front with the traffic. Robert was a great host with lots of info on where to... More

We usually stay in chain hotels before sailing to France but ridiculously high prices this year made us look at B&B's and I'm glad we did. The location of Loddington House is perfect and the rooms were great. Robert was a good host and I'm sorry we left too early for breakfast as it sounded very good. I was worried... More

We arrived and were met by Robert. Very charming and friendly! We seem to always get the room on the third floor and are quite happy with stairs. We requested the room facing the cliffs and the sound of gulls made us feel right at home in the mornings. We chose a light breakfast option, while the table next to... More

Having passed through Dover as quickly as possible over many years we were motivated to see the Castle and the Museum and stayed two nights at Loddington House. We were not disappointed. Breakfasts are very good and since we stayed two nights they were thrown in for free. The welcome is warm and we shall certainly stay here again. More

We booked the victorian room (ensuite) for our return trip from Calais but were running late. We called the hotel and the owner was very understanding. When we arrived, we were allocated the cream room which was in the attic space (not great if you're taller than 5'5'') which was not ensuite. We did however have sole use of the... More

Since then we have put in new flat screen digital tv Cream room does not have shared bathroom, there are no other guest rooms up on the floor, which would have been explained to them. no sharing, just for that room only. This is an old house, beautifully decorated, with great views of the harbour or the cliffs from every room! Everthing is clean and all the bed linen and towels smell so nice! Robert, the owner, has been so great, helping me with all I needed to know, reccommending places to go and how to get there. I'm definitely gonna come... More
