We opted for the second floor front facing double room despite being aware of the traffic passing below the window. My husband spent childhood holidays in Dover at his grandparents flat in the area. The room was light and airy with twin beds which were comfortable. The bathroom is certainly due for an update as was past it's best. Desperately... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night while taking in the sights of Dover. It was the perfect choice for us since we wanted to stay close to the cliffs and the castle. We took a long walk along the cliffs the evening we arrived and then took the short drive to the castle the following day. We... More

A warm welcome and useful advice about eateries nearby. We had to make an early start to catch our ferry ( Some people may not consider 7am that early, but it is for us ). This meant we could not take breakfast so an offer of a room upgrade instead was most welcome. I must admit it seemed strange, though,... More

We were met with a great welcome and very well looked after during our one night stay. The owners are really nice people, they gave us good advice regarding restaurants and sightseeing and they booked the taxi to take us to the cruise ship terminal. Our room was lovely with sea view. We slept well and enjoyed our breakfasts. The... More

Superb welcome and breakfast and advice. Rooms are good and the whole hotel has wonderful character and charm. It's a reverse travelodge. We used it for the ferry and it is impossible to get closer. Daytime parking may be tricky there are no restrictions between 17:30 and 10:00

We were well received by the delightful owners and looked after during our two day stay. The enormous room was comfortable and quiet. We slept well and enjoyed our breakfasts. We ate at one excellent and another good restaurant nearby. We also visited the castle-a must! We wholeheartedly recommend a stay here, especially if you are off to Europe.

We stayed here for two nights after driving to England by car, using the Eurotunnel to cross the channel (I lived in Munich at that time) and one more night before crossing the channel again on our way home. This place and its owner are just so lovely and cute! Besides having a great full english breakfast everyday, we also... More

Robert welcomed us when we arrived at about 4.30pm. As we were the only guests that night he gave us a choice of which room we wished to have (although we had only booked and paid for the cheapest room at the back of the hotel). My wife chose a lovely en-suite twin room overlooking the front and the harbour.... More

We were met with a great welcome. Lovely room, with sea view. No elevator so had to walk up 3 flights, but Robert the Manager/Owner looked after our bags etc. Great sitting room and Library to relax in. Breakfast was served in an ocean view room and was very tastefully set, and all we wanted, only had to ask. The... More
