Great location, right by train station. Parking a bit tricky, but not a huge problem. Thea was really friendly and helpful, and place has a nice atmosphere. Room was a bit small, but beds comfy and everywhere was very clean :)

We booked two rooms at St Alban B&B. The outside of the house is very neat and tidy as too inside, but the rooms are minute. We had a double room which had a double bed in it without much room to move about. My husband had to walk sideways to get around the bed. What I thought was a... More

we stayed here overnight before getting the ferry to France. It was ideal for this purpose as it was clean and inexpensive but the room was extremely small and I kept knocking my toe and knee on the corner of the bed!I left a charger behind and on our way back we rang and then collected it which is an... Check in is from 4pm onwards, meaning that we had to wander around town with our bags until then, since we were early. The same happened the day after, as nobody would have been at the reception to give us our bags back before 4pm. This doesn't make the general atmosphere very welcoming. The room was tiny, the walls very... More

Because we wanted to see as much as possible of Great Britain as possible with our Britrail pass (which overall was a wonderfully positive experience), I booked Monday night, 9 June in Dover, with a stay at the St. Albans Guest House. Our rooms were clean. The 17 steps to the front door from the sidewalk was the first indication... More

The owner, Thea, was kind and helpful. She had lots of good advice about the town. I was the only person at the breakfast, but it was very homey and she sat and chatted with me. I only stayed one night but she held my bags the next day after I checked out, as I had an afternoon train. I... More

Visitors to the St Albans Guest house in Dover may be forgiven for thinking they're on the set of 70's sitcom Fawlty Twoers - but without the funny bits. At any moment we were expecting John Cleese to jump out of the wardrobe after a 3am 'checking of the walls'. The owner has a serious problem with manners and the... More

We stayed at the St. Alban's for two nights as our home base for the British Open and to be close to the ferry terminal for our subsequent trip to France. The train service in England is outstanding. We took the train from London to Dover Priory. St. Alban's is right across the street from the station; but there is... More
