As we approached from across the road we thought that the building was derelict and maybe we were at the wrong address, unfortunately we wasn't. We had the room with the cut-out door (see photo's posted by previous reviewers), it was small and the en-suite was tiny, you had to stand in shower tray to use the small wash basin.... More

We didn't check the Trip-advisor first and as we only found 2 hostels in Dover this was "the best" option (42 pounds 2 people). When we arrived it was depressing to see the hostel from outside, it looks like an old jail. my boyfriend and i had to stay waiting until 3 because there was no one to open the... More

Firstly I could only find 2 hostels in Dover and the other had worse reviews. The Dover area is obviously not very prosperous and there is not an abundance of high quality backpacker accommodation as in other parts of the world. Considering this, the hostel was clean and central with a good breakfast. However, the rooms are small, stairways cramped... More

Sadly I didn't read the reviews on Trip Advisor, even as a budget traveller I have standards that include clean bedding. The sheets may have been clean but were so crumpled it was hard to tell however the very cheap duvet was filthy. The blind was covered in dirt and mould and didn't fit the window so bright light came... More

PROS: Price, proximity to rail station & town centre & sea front, good strength wi fi in the room, flat screen TV in rooms (at least, mine did - room 8). Good security system - key pads with codes changed daily (different codes for entrance door & each room). CONS: traffic noise (even in a room at the back). Having... More

My partner and I spent a single night booked via hotels.com and although other people have complained about the standards it is only a Hostel and not a high ranking hotel. We had a double bed room which was not massive but had enough space for the two of us and our bags which were minimal as it was a... More

Owner turns off hot water. Room was moldy and you could see it everywhere. Everything smelled! The room was small but the bathroom was so small you couldn't stand up in it! Asked for some money back due to the conditions and was called a liar and yelled at in front of other guests in the 'dining room' Do not... More

Dingy place with small rooms and narrow corridors. Manager shouted at my girlfriend for having the light on, moved us into a different room, increased prices and asked us to change our own bedsheets. Overall, a very poor experience indeed. Avoid at all costs, try a hostel down the road, worth the extra £10/£15.

This has got to be the worst place ever to stay. The hallway, corridor and room stunk of mould .The carpets where filthy and the stairway was so narrow, that anything bigger than a laptop bag was a struggle to get up them. The room was the size of a shoe box!! with no where to put your luggage. The... More

Things you may expect to do, but can't: - opening windows - washing hands without getting in the shower - climbing comfortably and safely upstairs (the stairs are 60 cm wide. If you have something bigger than a pouch, you're in a mess) - getting out of bed without banging against the wall - sleeping without being awaken by hosts'... More
