Nice, conveniently located small hostel near centre of Dover. Landlord was willing to provide earlier than usual breakfast for me to be able to catch early ferry back to Europe! A bit noise from the street as situated on main road, but ok for an inner city hostel! Very modern and clean bathroom and showers!

Easy to find, literally 1 minute walk from Dover Priory Train Station and it was cheap and cheerful for 1 night, but that was enough for my friend and I - 2 nights would of been ok at a push. The building is an eyesore, horrible looking and sticks out like a sore thumb. The security system is great, but... More

the hostel looks dirty from the outside, The front door does not open fully and is hard to get in with luggage, narrow winding stairs, The heating was not working on arival and we had to call the Hostel to come and fix it. It has almost every facility you would want in a hostel and some more, really value for money for the price, great location close to everything. Free wifi, shared kitchen, free tea coffee and rich tea biscuits ;) I would recommend to any one looking for a decent hostel.

The Alma hostel can be seen from the main Folkestone Road upon exit of the Dover Priory train station. The building is a bit dowdy looking but the rooms inside are very clean and warm. Probably the cleanest hostel we've ever stayed in. Well equipped with a good flat screen TV. However, walls are thin between the rooms so can... More

THE OWNER LET HIMSELF INTO OUR ROOM AT 8AM WHILST WE WERE STILL SLEEPING (ME AND MY PARTNER). MY PARTNER WAS SO SCARED WE LEFT IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT STAY HERE. We arrived at 15.00 (the time stated on our booking). From the outside the place looks horrible and dirty, with no sign of anyone being in. We knocked on the... More

Our room was tiny, but we stayed here the night before the ferry, bed is comfy, you actually get a big fluffy pillow as opposed to a wafer thin mint! room is very warm, free internet and very central to the town, for an over night before early ferry it is just fine. Parking is on the street, so I... More

We had an early ferry, and Tripadvisor tooks us to the Hostel Alma for a budget-price stay (£55.00 for two, B&B). The hostel is within walking distance of the town centre (not that the town centre is very inspiring). Parking is free overnight in the street opposite. Also opposite is a garage with convenience shopping. Our second-floor room faced the... More

While basic in terms of facilities this was one of the most welcoming places I've ever stayed in. The room was clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors. The breakfast was lovely and there was lots of it! I would definitely use this venue for an overnight stay again.

A great place to stay. We had a family room on the top floor which was really quiet and comfortable. The self catering kitchen was great and very handy. The room was very clean and secure. The cooked breakfast was delicious and the owner very helpful. We would stay here again. Great value for money and the free WiFi a... More
