We booked this hotel as it had a pool and the location was excellent in situ to the ferry. Whilst booking the hotel months ago I did enquire about the pool etc and was told they were open for business.......LIE. Upon arrival I asked about the pool, as we had planned nothing else but a good long swim for the... More

There's not many places where you can fart in the lift and improve the smell. The beds were the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced, the TV buzzed, the whole place smelled. Just as well they're knocking it down. I've stayed in some dives but this is by far the worst! If you've got a booking in the next few weeks,... More

Having tried other, more expensive hotels in Dover for my overnight stay before the ferry and found them not good value for money I thought I would try a "cheapie" and this is the cheapest of the cheap at forty pounds a night. It IS cheap and dirty and rundown. Most things did not work well and I definitely felt... More

Hideous and vile. Please don't stay here - we stupidly booked breakfast and there weren't any spoons on the tables - we were told by the staff that it was because it's due for demolition in a months time and they wouldn't buy any more cutlery. The pool has been out of order for 3 months although even if it... More

Me and a few friends stayed here, to settle down for the night, chill etc, it wasn't too bad, yet was definitely not the best! Reception staff were okay, not the happiest bunch of people though. Was allocated to the 3rd floor. Around 11pm the security guard barged in, without knocking, and said that water was leaking into the room... More

We found this hotel via Late Rooms, so for £40 per night (no breakfast) we thought we were prepared for budget accommodation. However, it’s one thing to be budget but this hotel was tired, dirty, dated and smelly. It would appear that after the smoking ban in public places was enforced, they’d not bothered to freshen the hotel up as... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night before catching early morning ferry to Calais. A very good location. The room was very large and clean, the bathroom could do with a tidy up - looking rather tired - but was very clean. Unfortunately the swimming pool was out of action as was the gym.

This is a former Queens Moat Houses establishment which is now in private ownership. Although it has clearly seen better days it nevertheless represents excellent value for money at £40 a room. The hotel has some free parking on site and if that is full there are plenty of pay and display car parks nearby. It is literally a stones... More
