My husband booked this as it was convenient, for the ferry port. We had 2 nights booked. The night before we went away, then a week later. When we first arrived I noticed a lot of rubbish outside the door, and that the building, ( exterior) looked old and shabby. When we entered. oooh, well it was dark and musty... More

I stayed here for the weekend whilst visiting friends in Dover. It was a pleasant stay the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very spacious and very clean a bit old fashioned however it's not like I was paying for a 5star hotel it is 2star which people seem to forget by reading past reviews. I will... More

Stayed here for one night for an easy trip to the ferry the next morning. I first noticed the wood panelled reception and bar and liked the character of the place. Slightly changed my view when I saw the lift had carpet on its walls! The beds had sheets, not a duvet in sight. I went to check the car... More

We booked this hotel for a weekend trip to Dover and when we arrived we went into the reception to book in. Not only did they not have our booking but there was lots of people in reception complaining about their room, rooms that have not been cleaned and beds had been slept in and not changed but 90% of... We stayed for one night after a day trip to calais. High season 50.00 for a large room with 2 double beds. Great hotel it ain't was a 70s time warp but bed was comfortable and towels and bedding was clean. Good location near to the sea front and ferry port, town centre also close by nice cafe next door... Absolutely disgusting dirty hotel. Decor dirty and old and a damp, old and unkempt smell everywhere. Beds we had were just a board with springs on. Everywhere felt dirty and there was an influx of drunk middle age men who were obviously living there. Felt very unsafe to the point we put our suitcase in front of our bedroom door.... More

Want to stay at a hotel full of Roaches?... Then the County Hotel is for you. The baths are filthy, carpets matted with fluff and dirt. The staff are rude and mostly unhelpful. The rooms absolutely stink, we were moved to different rooms multiple times each worse than our original. We had barely any sleep because we were constantly bitten... More

You can say you get what you pay for but so many drunks around hotel was quite intimidating and the St check in was told there was a 24 hour bar (is this a selling point). Only 7 parking spaces for the hotel which is huge. I slept in a single bed and the bed linen did not fit. The... More

Stayed with friends going on a short break to France. If you want somewhere to get your head down near the docks, this is a good cheap option - a great hotel it ain't. The beds are OKish, the decor dated and it's all a bit run down albeit clean. The staff though were pleasant, and tried their best.

I have stayed in many hotels in my life but this was definitely the worst, I was concerned before I went as I don't believe many reviews on this site and I never complain unless I really have to. But this was horrendous we are on holiday and did not need to become depressed so we left and got an... More
