Despite a drab and somewhat foreboding exterior, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is excellent for transit for either rail or ferry terminal, both being accessible on foot. I would say at a price cheaper than most chain hotels in Dover and better location, this hotel provided good value for money. more

This hotel was extremely unpleasant for the price (65 pounds, without breakfast). Although it is situated near the castle, cliffs, and beach, it is run down on the outside and inside. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned. The outside is covered with chicken wire giving the hotel an air of 'ghetto'.... more

I read all of these other reviews and admit that it aint the greatest hotel on the planet, but my overnight experience wasn’t that bad. this hotel is just nasty, noisy and not upto standards the room was grubby the lift actually stuck and I had to be rescued, gave me time to read the grafiiti the swimming pool only fit for paddling and the WORST meal I ever encountered Fans of lif eon mars/ashes to ashes could hold a convention here! more

where to start old dated building the rooms would have been nice in the early 70s maybe but in 2008 the standard is terrible old fashioned bedding with fag burns dated furniture chipped crockery the room was 10 feet from a road with thundering lorries ear plugs recomended!!! the reception area was i presume recently flooded no carpets dehumidifiers on... more
