Just returned from my 4th stay at the Maison Dieu and I would definitely recommend this hotel. The whole place is incredibly clean and the rooms nicely laid out. The showers are equipped with shampoo, conditioner and soaps for guest use which is a nice touch. The owners, Barry and Diane are extremely welcoming and cannot do enough for you.... More

Spent two nights at this B&B. Diane and Barry are fantastic hosts. Diane spent a great deal of time showing us where things were on the map and recommending resturants. The accommodation was very clean and updated. Breakfast was hot and delicious. Would stay again!!

My original choice to stay was fully booked, and I was recommended on to the Maison Dieu. The whole stay, although only one night, was warm and friendly. Made very welcome by Di. My room, a single, en suite, was well appointed and warm, ('twas a cold winter's night for this thin blooded pensionista!) Breakfast room was bright and airy... More

Terrific Guest House, brilliant value and the service was first class. Situated a stones throw from the centre. The owners do a great job of making guests feel welcome and are extremely helpful. Fresh flowers on the breakfast table, beautifully decorated. Basically of a standard way ahead of what you would expect. Will definitely go back.

I rang well after dark, I have a bicycle, 6x panniers, it's December 30th, I am a little muddy, getting cold and the warmth and hospitality, not to mention the immediate hot cuppa tea from Di & Barry almost puts the Hotel of Mum & Dad to shame! They could so easily have said that they were full that night.... More

After a long trip from Bath on a cold December evening I easily found this B&B up some steps to a grand looking house on one of Dover's main streets. I couldn't believe the friendliness from the hosts. I was given a coffee and biscuit on arrival, the single room is wonderfully cosy and I slept very well in a... More

I loved the welcome and friendliness of the hosts - a hot cup of tea and biscuit is 7 star after a 12 hour drive. It's a safe, very very clean and comfortable place to stay en route to or from France. I didn't try the breakfast - but the comments in the visitor's book were universally super positive. It's... We are SO pleased you enjoyed your brief overnight stay - we are always very aware that our visitors have generally had a lengthy journey and so do make a point of offering refreshment or super quick directions to one of our local restaurants - many of which are within 10 minutes walk of the house. I stayed here for one night before a nerve racking job interview and I truly couldn't have wished to stay in a more welcoming and relaxing guest house. The proprietors were so nice - they really helped to calm my nerves! They also introduced me to the local area. I had a very cosy room and the most generous breakfast.... More

We stayed with Di and Barry in their lovely home for 3 nights. Parking is on the forecourt outside or car park opposite ( free at night ). We were greeted with a warm welcome and a cup of tea brought to our room. Di produced a street map of Dover with all the recommended local eateries ( we had... More

Respectable frontage and garden, with outlook onto Dover castle at the back. A warn welcome. Stayed in a cosy and well fitted small single room. Very well fitted with posh private bathroom nearby. Parking was adequate with easy access to shops, seafront & ferries. Traffic on the main road noisy.
