Terrible, do not book this hotel. £155 for one night in a tiny room which doesn't remotely resemble the pictures. Tv doesn't work, wifi doesn't work well in room. Was greeted by someone who spoke no English and every query/question I had, got defensive and told me to wait for over an hour for the problem to be dealt with... More

Had a wonderful night in the heart of Canterbury, gloriously comfy four poster bed and jacuzzi in bathroom... Friendly, helpful staff made a pleasant stay. Would highly recommend although a trade off to the outstanding location is that it can get busy at night.

The hotel was very sweet and the staff were friendly, however it was not worth the price we paid. The room was clean, but very small in comparison to the photos shown. The shower was broken and the toilet was very noisy and we not able to leave our bags there whilst we went out in the day after we... More

Lovely oldie world hotel. You have to ring the bell on arrival but the door is opened quickly and we were shown to a lovely room very clean. A few minor issues such as broken flush which we mended and water coming through the ceiling in the morning! However we had a lovely breakfast inc vegetarian and good hosts. Not... More

Fantastic quaint little place with lots of lovely character and historic relevance. Not particularly cheap but you're right in the heart of Canterbury and all things considered the price is reasonable. Owners were lovely, rooms were adorable and had a great breakfast thrown in the top it off. Loved Canterbury and loved the Sun Hotel and Tea Rooms. Thanks for... More

We stayed for two nights in the Dickens room, and generally enjoyed it. The room is definitely spacious enough, with a separate en-suite toilet and en-suite shower room. Everything was clean, and when we discovered that the kettle in the room didn't work, they happily provided us with a replacement - which was evidently a brand new kettle. The building... More

We booked this hotel because we needed a family room for a wedding nearby. We were worried when we arrived to find we had to ring someone to get in and the very friendly woman who answered couldn't really speak English. We stayed in the Marlowe room. The main bedroom was extremely cramped. It was advertised as a fourposter, as... More

Very disappointing. Obviously Canterbury is expensive, but this hotel is overpriced. Understand it must cost a fortune to run a historic building in the middle of the city but for the price charged you expect great details, whereas this feels like a pretty miserable B&B. Does not run as hotel as door locked and reception unmanned, also the tea rooms... More

If you want to stay somewhere with bags of character and a great sense of history, this might be the place for you. An exquisite building, now thought to date from the 1480s, rescued from a derelict state by the personable and friendly owner. We were in the Canterbury room, a family room, very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The... More

The good points: Breakfast was very nice and plenty of it. The owner is a pleasant chap to talk to. The location is in the centre and easy access for sights and shops etc. The bad points: The pilgrim room at £100 is a waste of money, I left feeling completely ripped off. There is no picture of this room... More
