Very accomodating while we were down for a wedding. Even gave us a lift to the train station when we checked out, how many places would do that? Room was very comfortable, and we were even able to get a vegan cooked breakfast Easily the best B&B I have ever stayed at

Pretty much the worst thing about this B&B is the website which just doesn't do it justice at all. The property is located on the east side of the road, not the west as google leads you to believe and it is indeed a white house right next to the road. Location is pretty good, easy access, ample parking and... More

My partner and I usually avoid stopping in B&B's after a few unpleasant experiences. I am pleased to say this was not the case at Sylvan Cottage. The quality of the accommodation was as good as any hotel we have been to and the friendliness of the owner was exceptional. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here... More

We stayed for just the one night in July 2013 and found the quality of the rooms to be exceptionally high and as mentioned before....the breakfast was great! However, WE found the owner Jac not be that welcoming. In fact we felt that we were a massive inconvenience to her when we arrived. We were offered tea and biscuits, but... More

We are really pleased that we continue to expand the concept of 'normality' for the critical traveller who chooses to stay with us in our characterful 300 year old home. If we were a predictably 'standard' hotel chain and not a very small business, 'phoning in sick' would have been my option, instead of endeavouring to provide the best possible... More

This B&B is a hidden gem and very much a welcoming retreat, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city and a far far cry from the soulless corporate chains of a similar price range. We only stayed one night and were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much to ask for. Upon arrival we... More

I just stayed here for 2 nights, and I must say it wasn't enough. The cottage is lovely, the room is big with an amazing huge shower. Great breakfast and it's just 10 mins by car for Canterbury. Jac is lovely, she gave us great tips and helped us with anything e needed. Much recommended!

We were attending a wedding just down the road from Sylvan Cottage in early September 2012, and only chose Sylvan initially for it’s incredibly convenient location and decent nightly rate. The standard of accommodation itself was a very welcome surprise and we could not have been happier with the quality of both the property and the service we received from... More

We stayed 2 nights for a family wedding in Canterbury, and the location of Sylvan Cottage was perfect as the wedding reception was at Winters Barns - just 2 minutes walk down the road. On our arrival, Jac greeted us with tea and coffee and biscuits - an excellent start! Sylvan Cottage is an immaculately kept B&B. Our ground-floor room... More

We stayed here for 3 nights, using this wonderful B&B as our base to tour Canterbury and Kent. The owners are great hosts, offered a very generous breakfast, and clearly thought of the needs of families with young children - most of what you could need is available, including lots of Lego! Although you can walk to town, we'd recommend... More

This was our 2nd visit and have also recommended family who have also loved it. Nothing bad to say, from ease of booking, lovely room overlooking the garden to fabulous breakfast. The cottage is beautiful, just outside Canterbury (you do need a car) and although on a main road, we weren't aware of the traffic. Jac greeted us with pot... More
