I spent a week at the Hotel as I was beginning an MA course at the nearby University and wanted somewhere to stay within walking distance. Some might say the hotel is a little dated, but I actually thought that was part of its charm and a nice change from modern hotels that can be sleek and clinical. I found... More

Third visit and still impressed clean, friendly and good value. Have read some negative feedback but can only convey positive comments about our stay. Our daughter is a student at the local university and the hotel is handy in that she could join us for breakfast and dinner each night.

Nice hotel: some might find it looks dated while actually we thought it looked romantic and has a real 'British' style. The room was good with everything working correctly. The mattress was very soft, you'd feel like you're sinking in it. The personnel was always friendly and eager to help out. We stayed one night and went to the restaurant... More

I was born in Kent over 60 years ago and after living in Australia for 40 years, I still remember Canterbury very well. The Victoria Hotel suited this visit very well. Together with my Sister and Niece we bought Mums' ashes back to Kent from Australia for their final resting place as was her request. Although the hotel is situated... More

We stayed here for the weekend in November. It was my hubby's birthday so we stayed in the room with the 4 poster bed. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is well situated so that you can walk into town (about15mins walk). Breakfast was great with a varied menu. We didn't eat in the hotel for... More

From the moment we checked in we knew that we were on a winner, the person on reception in the process of giving us the information on the hotel went on to supply a map of canterbury with places of interest, next a very good greeting from the barman and a well needed beer, then on to the resturant, super environment... Our group of 23 arrived directly from Heathrow, via Hever Castle, to settle for 5 nights at The Victoria. We were warmly and efficiently welcomed by a totally prepared staff Our one wheelchair using person was greeted with the chair that had been ordered for rental and her room was especially capacious. Rooms were clean and neat and of decent... More

The hotel is well placed, only 15-20 minutes from the city centre. We had a lovely family room for us and our two children. Good parking was available and reception staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. The breakfast experience was disappointing due to lack of staff attention.
