I spent two nights at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge over the late May bank holiday weekend. My partner was away and I was looking for somewhere peaceful for a weekend alone. It's been many years since I visited Canterbury and it was worth going back. Canterbury Cathedral Lodge was a truly lovely place to stay. In contrast to some of the... more

We booked to stay in the Cathedral Lodge, having read reviews of all the other Canterbury hotel and we have to say this place was fantastic. Whilst the accommodation did remind me a little of a university's halls of residence, it was perfect for a weekend break in Canterbury. The location was amazing, being inside the cathedral grounds, the staff... more

Canterbury Cathedral Lodge is all about the location. It is truly unique. It is situated right opposite, and within the grounds of, the cathedral. This gives you unparalleld access to the cathedral and the city, not to mention free parking, right in the heart of Canterbury. Having said that, the accommodation is pretty plain, with a fairly uninspired design. The... more

We, a party of three (over the age of 55) stayed here for one week. The accommodation we booked was a two bedroom self catering unit. The unit was very comfortable with each bedroom having two twin beds and lots of drawer and cupboard space. Sitting room comfortable with views of the Cathedral. Kitchen well equipped including a washer, dryer... more

I travel alot. And I stay in all kinds of hotels two star, five star. I have taken a long time to write this review because I didn't want to let the secret out. But since I get so much help from other travellers' reviews in other towns, I thought it only fair that I give back to the site... more

Firstly the location of this hotel is amazing sitting within the Cathedral grounds, right in the heart of Canterbury, with friendly staff. However, you are paying for location and not for quality of rooms. The rooms are basic and small, but clean, there were no baths, just a basic shower, with a small double bed. But the real problem were... more

This is a beautiful and serene place to stay in the heart of Canterbury, right next to the cathedral. Parking was arranged for us in the grounds on request. Our room was very comfortable, and had a gorgeous view of the cathedral. The staff were always helpful and friendly, and the breakfast (continental only) was good - a bit of... more

Only stayed one night. The room was well presented, clean and tidy . The view was fantastic,we looked out into the cathedral.Great location right in the centre of Canterbury. We were fortunate and managed to reserve a parking space in the grounds of the Cathedral, through reception when we made the reservation. more

Was a bit worried about this as hotel is in Cathedral grounds, but its fab! You can see the Cathedral from the bedroom, listen to the choir, and best of all, you are close enough to enjoy Canterburys shops & bars & restaurants (& you can park your car in the city centre!) Definitely worth it & paying the money... more
