Had a great stay, friendly staff, lovely clean room. Special mention to Pete Buchan who is a legend! Would certainly return if in Canterbury again. I particularly enjoyed having eggs Benedict as an option for breakfast as well as full English!

Staying at the Cathedral Lodge is a chance to experience the peace and calm of a different way of life. Draw back the curtains and there is the great Cathedral, rising up in its splendour of Norman, Gothic and Early English architecture. The Lodge is purpose built and comfortable. Staff are welcoming and the service good.Parking on site is a... More

We stayed for one night in Jan 2015. Family of 2 adults and 3 children (ages 14-7). The hotel is within the Canterbury Cathedral precints and the fee to visit the Cathedral is included in the price for the rooms. We had 2 rooms as no single room would accomodate 5 people. Both rooms were in a building very near... More

This hotel is worth staying at for the position in the close of the Cathedral, your check-in card provides free entry to the Cathedral and also offers discounts in several restaurants locally. The rooms are well equipped with good quality toiletries. No room service but drinks can be served in the library, kettle, iron provided in each room. The breakfasts... More

To our shame we had never visited Canterbury, we were attending a concert at the Cathedral, we found the hotel on the Web, it looked good from the description and at £132 for a double room with full english breakfast it looked exceptional value, parking was close and at £5 again was reasonable. Apart from the challenge of finding the... More

We stayed for one night just before Christmas. The location is wonderful the hotel is within the private walls of the cathedral ,so lovely and quiet.I realized the hotel was going to be a bit stark but I wasn't really prepared for armchairs that really needed re upholstering and an awful bed cover ( strangely we removed this item and the... What a privilege to stay at such a wonderful lodge so close to the cathedral. It was so comfortable, the food was very good, the staff very friendly, and the view from my room was stunning especially at night when the cathedral is lit up.

We stayed at the lodge on Saturday night. Booking in was very good, very helpful staff. The room was ready, therefore we were allowed in early. We had a nice room with a beautiful view of the Cathedral. The Christmas trees were still up and lit up, which was a real bonus. We went along to Evensong, which was truly... More

You cannot beat the location of this hotel - directly next to the cathedral itself in the actual grounds. The welcome was friendly, the staff helpful. We booked the day before we went so understandably we probably got the least best room on site - we were in thr Burgate building behind the main hotel bit, room 301. Lots of... More

Stayed here for a weekend break. Very quiet, clean and spacious room overlooking the Cathedral. In the Cathedral grounds so you couldn't be closer to all the local amenities. Freshly cooked breakfast made to order which was very tasty. Very early check out with no flexibility to extend and your parking facility end with it.
