We stayed for two nights to celebrate a special anniversary, and this hotel and its staff helped to make the occasion very special indeed. Obviously, its location sets the tone to a certain extent, but our welcome was cheerfully sincere, and while the routine of check-in was meticulously followed, the receptionist offered information throughout which we subsequently found useful. Just... More

We stayed at The Lodge for 2 nights 12-13th April. This was to mark a very special occasion and what a great choice. The location is beautiful and to have the view of the cathedral first in the morning and last thing at night is certainly a sight to behold. The room was very clean with great facilities. The only... We stayed in Canterbury for a Christmas escape, and chose the hotel for its central location. It's at the heart of the city, but a walled surround leaves the lodge untouched by the hustle and bustle. We initially had concerns about noise from the cathedral bells, but it wasn't a problem, and the views over the building were magical. The... More

We stayed here for one night and we did have a bit of trouble finding the hotel (down a little side turning off a one way street). We couldn't park on site (fully booked) but the hotel gave us a permit for a car park less than 5 minutes walk away. We had a great view of the cathedral and... More

You honestly cannot beat the location - looking out the window at night and seeing the Cathedral just steps away is something to behold. We spent a Monday evening at the hotel with our family. We stayed in the 'apartment,' located in an adjoining building. It's perfect for families. A small kitchen, TV room, two bedrooms and a bathroom, it... More

We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday and the whole experience was wonderful. Fantastic location and very worth paying the extra for parking 'on site'. To be able to just wander round and, on the Sunday morning stroll over to the morning service in the Cathedral surrounded by such history was very special. Welcoming greeting from reception and the room... More

What a lovely little hotel with the Cathedral views as a beautiful bonus. We stayed for one night, booking two rooms, one within the main hotel for my mum and one close by in the other building up some stairs. The price of the room up the stairs was cheaper to reflect this, but we were very happy with it.Friendly,... More

Lovely hotel, helpful staff great parking spot in the grounds of the Cathedral. Cosy modern rooms. Breakfast was delicious, lovely atmosphere in breakfast room. We did not visit Cathedral even though entrance is included in price of hotel room. Too much else to do in Canterbury, the view of the Cathedral was stunning though, especially beautiful at night.

We only stayed the one night. The room had a fantastic view of the Cathedral, and we had no problems with the room. Very clean. The breakfast was served by very attentive staff and promoted local produce, very tasty. All staff we met were professional and courteous, we will definitely be back again soon for more than one night.

A fantastic hotel with contemporary, stylish rooms offering fabulous views of the cathedral. Public areas and grounds are tranquil and well presented. The service is efficient, attentive and friendly. Breakfast choice was great and food quality excellent. We opted for the 24 hour parking permit which allows stays in any car park around town. The only slight negative is that... More
