We stayed here for a quick overnight visit to Canterbury and absolutely loved the place. We will make this our only place to stay now in Canterbury, it knocks spots off all its competitors! The lodge sits inside the Cathedral precincts but offers modern clean hotel rooms - small but comfortable, with wonderful views over the Cathedral and quiet serenity... More

The Cathedral Lodge is located directly opposite the cathedral: upon arrival make sure to enter driving through Burgate and turn right at the end through the official entrancegate for the cathedral (bit unusual, made us unsure, but is the right way). The hotel is modern, lots of wood, simple but has everything, including coffie/tea making facilities, hairdryer, even a window... More

We held my daughters wedding reception here on 11th July 2015. The whole day was exceptionally well run to the extent that I hardly noticed the staff from beginning to end. The food was superb and on a very hot day the garden wad lovely for the welcome drinks and canapés. Simply cannot fault the team. Also probably one of... More

Second time we've stayed in this very special place. Staff are wonderful, rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is superb. But nothing compares to coming back from dinner after 9 o'clock to be let in through the ancient gates to enjoy the amazing ambience of the floodlit cathedral. Jaw dropping! Also, enjoy an aperitif on the Campanile Lawn for an... More

We stayed at the Canterbury Lodge in June 2015, as our main location for day trips in Kent for a few days. We had a room in an adjacent building, clean and comfortable, but no A/C. It was warm the 3 days we stayed, and the nights equally warm, with difficulty sleeping. Otherwise, the staff were very helpful and attentive,... More

A huge "thank you" to a close friend who suggested this hotel as a venue for our annual School re-union for the Hong Kong Class of the early 1960s. It was an immediate hit for all of us gathered together this year in Canterbury as it is located inside the Cathedral grounds overlooking the Cathedral. The Lodge is not only... More

Reception staff were very welcoming & pleasant. The breakfast was easily the best we have experienced; better than most five star hotels. It was perfectly cooked, seasoned & presented & the young waiting staff attentive & efficient. It was wonderful to be staying in the centre of Canterbury in the shadow of the beautiful Cathedral. Sadly the poor standards of... More

First class in every respect with an outstanding location. Breakfast is served in a wonderful spacious room with plenty of natural light and the food offers an wonderful combination of choice and quality. Excellent decor throughout, wonderful shower pressure (unlike many hotels), parking for £5, amazing views from the rooms, and free access to the Cathedral (saving £10.50 per person)... More

This hotel is located in grounds of Canterbury Cathedral. Everything about it is first class. Good English breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms and views excellent. Parking can be a bit troublesome. Check when making booking. Instruction need to be a little more clearer

Wow, what a lovely environment in which to have a drinks reception. The staff were so friendly and thorough in sending around many interesting canapés - answering the "what is it?" question time and again I am sure! I wish they had more non-alcoholic options for teetotallers like myself, but lovely aside from that. You get an up close view... More
