We stayed here for one night after reading the reviews on this site we were looking forward to our stay. We wouldnt stay again! The room itself was very tired looking and the furniture was beyond its best days. We had a room whereby there was a shower cubicle in the bedroom itserlf with a door that didnt shut and... more

I am writing in response to a fairly negative review posted recently. Firstly we have never represented our guest house as luxury, we are very clearly advertised as a 3 star clean and comfortable bed and breakfast establishment. The room that was reviewed is one of a couple of rooms left that are scheduled for a refurbishment, however all our...

Great location only a short walk to Canterbury old city walls and church. Parking was in front and free, getting around to other villages was very easy from the Lodge. The rooms are very small by American standards but clean and neat. The breakfast was a cooked to order and was timely and well done. more

The owner was very friendly and helpful. We had a clean and newly decorated, spacious family room for our family of four. The breakfast was equally excellent. The town centre is only a short walk away. This guest house is very recommandable and we would definitely stay there again. more

Arrived to a lovely welcoming lobby. Was shown to our rooms, us being myself and partner and daughter, up onto a huge landing, bright, nicely decorated. Once in our rooms it was a real bonus and great suprise! Lovely rooms, immaculate, warm, cosy, comfy & lovely decor a real treat after a long journey from Northamptionshire. I recommend anyone visiting... more

Stayed for 3 nights in early June. Found the old owner (new ones now) seemed past being interested. The decor is very dated and the linen etc was disgusting - obviously just carrying on till changing hands. Our double ensuite room was adequate, but up very steep stairs. Breakfast was the normal. The location was convienent - we walked to... more

The Chaucer Lodge has just changed hands (July2006) and the new owners are much more friendly than the last ones! The guest house is a 15 minute walk on the New Dover Road out of Canterbury, but is only a few minutes ride on one of the fairly frequent buses from Canterbury Bus Station. There is also a small car... more
