Me and some friends booked the hotel for one night. We where welcomed by the owner, a very friendly lady. They asked us what we wanted for breakfast and showed us the rooms. The rooms where small and rather outdated, but most important: clean. the beds where good to sleep in. The hotel is perfect to go into town, just... more

We traveled to Canterbury with no idea where to stay. Ersham Lodge was recommended by the Tourist Office and it was perfect. Elaine and David went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and everything was working. We were served an English Breakfast and we feel that they made the visit to Canterbury extra special. more

Our family stayed for 1 night at Ersham Lodge. It was for an extra special occasion that turned out to be well - organised. Elaine (owner) was extremely helpful and accomodating right from the beginning (from booking) to the end of our stay. Her advice on booking evening meal for our large group was well appreciated as well. Veg cooked... more

Extremely pleasant stay in Canterbury. The staff (owner and wife) could not do enough for us and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The front room (complete with four poster) was great. more

Had one night in the Ersham in Oct 2008. Close to Canterbury centre, only about 15 mins walk and you are in the main street. Our room was facing the road it`s situated on and there was some noise from traffic at night, though it didn't keep me awake. Small car park at front of hotel. It was a right... more

We had a family of 5 staying in a room that must have been designed for 3 at most. Beds were cramped together but the real downer was the 'bathroom' - or should I call it a 'bath wardrobe' ? A shower, vanity and toilet in the space normally used to hang up a coat. Breakfast was nice though -... more

was ruined and also our wedding breakfast with our friends the next day.. didn't even have one!! We spent 20 mins in our wedding regalia (a very heavy dress) on the doorstep ringing the nightbell (my husband was told he didn't need to take his key) and the next morning the rudeness of Elaine (the owner) astounded me and upset... more

It is disappointing to receive a spiteful review from a guest for whom we made such considerable efforts and put ourselves out for. We happily prepared a complimentary turkish breakfast on both mornings, as requested, and were at great pains to make all the guests as welcome and comfortable as possible. This slanderous review cannot be ignored. The groom and...

For those looking for a home away from home while in Canterbury please consider Ersham Lodge. We were provided very nice rooms, an excellent breakfast, and informed advice during our recent stay. All e-mail contacts were handled expeditiously and they even helped us tremendously with our airport transfers. The location can not be beat, five minutes and you are in... more

Only last week we again visited the excellent Ersham Lodge Hotel only to find out that we were some of the last guests to stay with the owners Sheila and Steve. We have been using Ersham Lodge now for over eight years and we have always found the place to be very welcoming, superbly clean and like home from home.... more
