Went with my girlfriend for a couple of nights, really enjoyed the stay and is nicely located close to Canterbury. We stayed in two rooms over two nights as we booked on the day and were happy with both rooms, they were clean and even the cosy room was nice. The breakfast is self-service but there is plenty for you... More

the pros first of all: good location literally 5 minutes walk from town. nice rooms albeit small. Cons are: Breakfast is a bit of a lottery. Shower is ok if you are not over six foot as your head will hit the ceiling. After staying in a one-star hotel in Folkestone the previous night the cleanliness of the room was... More

The room was bright, airy but very sparse, seemed more like staying in a friends newly decorated bedroom than a B&B. The bathroom was cramped, but the shower powerful and there were a good range of toileteries. The hosts were friendly and welcoming when we arrived and we were given a choice of two rooms, which was nice. Unfortunately the... More

Had a lovely room, well equipped and beautifully presented. Lots of nice little touches - fresh coffee, fridge etc. However, over a 2 night stay the room was not made up after the first night. This meant we ran out of toilet paper, and had to deal with trying to wash out cups, coffee grounds etc in the tiny bathroom.... More

Well situated (about a 5 min walk into Canterbury), friendly and relaxed B&B. Very clean room and en-suite with comfortable beds - we were in the attic which had very low ceilings, but we were well warned about that, so it didn't come as a surprise, but it wouldn't suit some people. Help yourself breakfast was good and suited us,... More

Firstly, don't expect a hotel ! It's a cross between a B&B and a self catering stop. It worked fine for us. Having driven all day from the middle of France we wanted a stop over to rest, shower and feed ! For short notice Premier Inns wanted £79. The Black Horse was £49.99 through Late rooms. Although the room... More

We stayed at the Inn for one night. Caroline the owner was very friendly and we got a room upgrade to a nice, clean and quiet room in the back of the Inn. The bed was perfect and we had a small but efficient shower room fully equipped for what we needed. We prepared our own breakfast in the kitchen... More

Had a fantastic stay in this very well presented B&B. It has been recently been refurbished to a high spec and extremely clean throughout. The owner was pleasant and accommodating. We stayed in the twin room and although small had all we needed to enjoy our stay. Breakfast was great as it was help yourself with lots of choice and... More

My daughter stayed for one night. I was really grateful for the report of a lovely room, and helpful staff. She said the room was "fancy - with big plumped pillows. Breakfast great as you could have what you wanted and everything was helpfully labelled. I brought my Chinese back the night before and could use the plate and fork... More

We stayed here for one night on Saturday, on a whim in Canterbury. We phoned Laterooms and booked the room, headed to the Black Horse and the lady owner was very accommodating, even thought she hadn't had the booking through yet from Laterooms! The room was very clean and comfy, and the relaxed style of the stay meant that in... More
