My husband & I have now visited this hotel 4 times since October 2008, and will certainly be returning when we are able to. We originally stayed because close family had moved to Canterbury, but the friendliness and warmth of the staff turned our visit into an 'event'. We have since felt able to take our three elderly parents, who... more

I managed to book the last room available for the two days we stayed at this hotel. We were given the family room which was obviously a good size. Nicely furnished and very clean. The garden is so beautifully kept with lots of tables and chairs placed around for a quiet sit and drink from the bar if you want.... more

We are often wary of small hotels but this is a really good one. The welcome was so warm and friendly it actually took us slightly by surprise! We had to pay a little extra for a deluxe (or words to that effect) room as we booked late, but unusually we could see what we were paying for. Large, spotless,... more

The short break at this hotel was enjoyed by all the family. My son especially liked the indoor pool, although small still big enough for lots of play. While he played we enjoyed drinks in the beautiful garden served by very friendly staff. Breakfast is not to be missed, we had everything from fruit to full english and continental all... more

The smile of the lovely receptionist (her name is Fee) won me instantly over, she made my family feel like seeing us all made her genuinely happy. Do not expect a grand hotel but rather a small place, the rooms were really clean - after bad experiences in Bristol I actually checked if the clothes are going to get dusty... more

We travelled with my in-laws and our 1.5 yr old son. Although the girl on reception was extremely friendly and polite, the other member of staff was very rude towards us. The damp 'sitting room' style bar left a litlle to be desired as did the TV room. The owners cat sprawled out on the couch shedding hair all over... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night in the luxury suite. I wish we could have stayed all week. The service was absolutely five star. There was a young lady on reception who showed us around and couldnt have been more helpful. The room was absolutely lovely. On Saturday night they have a small bar and Brian who serves... more

I was looking forward to staying in a good hotel during a recent visit to Canterbury and although I generally stay in B&B's I decided to go for this one as it was voted the number 1 hotel. Although the main building is quite charming and there were some nice touches such as a cosy lounge and little bar; this... more

Very friendly staff, very clean all over and a beautiful breakfast. Located in an ideal position for easy access to town. A very nice place to spend a short break. Thoroughly recommend the Chapter Arms down the road for a meal and drink and entertainment. more
