My wife and I drove to Grove Ferry Nature Reserve and dropped our son off as he was canoeing with the Scouts. We had two hours to kill and I really fancied returning to the Grove Ferry Inn where, in my formative years, I had enjoyed good food, and great hospitality. I ought to mention that you should bear in... more

My son booked the honeymoon suite nine months ago for his honeymoon night in august on ringing up to confirm if everything was still all booked, he found out not only had they got no record of him making the booking but they were all fully booked for that day now they blamed the previous management !!! so my son... more

We went to the Grove Ferry Inn today to have a nice meal after a long country walk. It was past 2pm when we arrived there. The menu looked promising, however, we did not get to ever taste the allegedly good food. We waited about 5-10 minutes at the till to order our meals, but were constantly being ignored. There... more

We have just returned from our third overnight stay at the Grove Ferry Inn. We were impressed the first time we stayed there. The restaurant was very good, the food delicious, and the staff friendly and professional. The rooms and general state of decor really impressed - very stylish. Very quiet and comfortable, we thought the lavish bedrooms made for... more

We stayed for one night for a wedding reception the pub itself is very nice and the staff wonderful but the room left a lot to be desired. Not enough hot water to even 1/4 fill bath, bathroom very much in need of updating looks like someone had put a fist through bathroom door all rooms poorly lit the breakfast... more

This is definitely NOT a 4 star property. Very, very disappointing experience. We arrived at 2 in the afternoon, exhausted after a long drive, and were put in a room with a horrid grinding/whirring noise coming from the roof. We tried to relax, but it was awful and we could barely hear ourselves think. We were told it was a... more

All the staff has changed and so had the management recently. And now it has no heart. It’s not turned in to a boring pub with an American manager that thinks he sit and talk to you try to convince all his customers that they are having a good stay. sham that the last managers were fire and all the... more

We spent a Saturday night in this seventeenth century inn. It is in a delighful location, right on the riverside of the Great Stour and has walks from the Inn around the Stodmarsh Nature Reserve. We were there in rainy weather which did not show the Inn or area off to their best advantage, but I am sure in sunny... more
