We went to see Derren Brown at the Marlowe Theatre, never having been there before. We decided to visit the nearest hostelry to eat before the show and The Pilgrims Hotel didn't disappoint us at all. Friendly efficient staff, brilliant choice of food all nicely presented and very generous portions. Given that Canterbury is very touristy I would have expected... More

This hotel is beautifully situated, friendly staff, breakfast was very good, room clean. It all feels a bit historic and quirky and it is nice in Canterbury not to be in branded hotel. However Room 3 which is a double with ensuite has the kitchen fan duct/chimney just outside the windows. It booms away so you can't rest until it... More

Excellent location, the hotel is close to the main strip by lots of bars, restaurants and shops. The staff were very friendly, amazing breakfast...will definitely be back again soon! The only negative thing I can say was the room felt a bit cold but apart from that i was very impressed and I hope to go back soon.

This attractive historic building directly opposite the Marlowe theatre, is the perfect place for a pre theatre meal. And certainly for any other occasion. The menu is varied, and the service impeccable.my daughter and I had a pre pantomime lunch. We had great difficulty making a choice from the extensive menu. The service was speedy, and the food beautifully presented and... More

Myself, my husband & our 3 sons booked a family room for 1 night as we were attending a wedding at a nearby venue. A couple of initial hiccups (which could happen anywhere) were dealt with promptly, courteously & very professionally. We were really impressed with the conduct of the staff. The family room was just lovely - clean, comfortable... More

Great location just a very short walk onto the main Street. Wish when we'd booked they'd given us info of where to park, instead followed the Sat Nav through what looked like pedestrian areas in to get to it, to find we had to park somewhere else. Not far but better if we'd have gone there first. Having said that... More

Have used this restaurant in the centre of Canterbury on and off for a number of years. Called in for lunch Saturday and noticed a change. The restaurant looked bare with the tables not laid up - this gives a very poor first impression and presents the establishment as being a little cold. The menu has remained roughly the same... We spent a lovely 5 days in Canterbury in the Pilgrims hotel and were very pleased with its location, with the friendliness and helpfulness of the stuff, with the room which was "Princess style" with a lovely bed with shelter and with the breakfast. And the food of the two restaurants!

Stayed at Pilgrims Hotel 24 -26 Oct. It was very well located to visit all local places of interest and the shopping centre. The hotel was full of character whilst maintaining an old traditional feel. The staff were friendly ,polite and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the Stroud room. It was clean and fresh . Bathroom... More
